Waqujue township is located in the southeast of Yuexi County, bordering Meigu County in the East, Shenpu Township in the south, Baoshi Township in the West and Shenguo Township in the north. It is 84km away from the county seat, with an average altitude of 2760m and a frost free period of 107 days. There are 6 administrative villages and 17 natural groups in the area. In 2007, there were 756 households with 3498 people, and the per capita income was 1692 yuan. It is a remote and cold village inhabited by Yi people.
brief introduction
At the beginning of 1956, waqujue township was established, and the Township People's government was also established. In October of the same year, waqujue township government was renamed the Township People's Committee. In April 1960, waqujue was incorporated into Shenguo people's commune. In April 1961, when the system was adjusted, waqujue was transferred from Shenguo people's commune to establish waqujue people's commune. In December 1962, waqujue people's commune was renamed township. In July 1968, with the approval of the Party committee of the people's armed forces Ministry of Yuexi County, waqujue Township Revolutionary Committee was established. In 1972, waqujue Township revolutionary committee member Zhi was renamed commune Revolutionary Committee. In April 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of waqujue people's commune was renamed the management committee, and in November it was renamed the Management Committee of waqujue people's commune. In January 1984, the institutional reform restored the Township People's government. It is located in waqujue village.
On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish waqujue Township and establish Shenguozhuang township. The former administrative region of waqujue township is the administrative region of Shenguozhuang township. The people's Government of Shenguozhuang township is stationed at No. 80, group 1, AZU village.
Government responsibilities
Waqujue Township People's government is the executive organ of waqujue Township People's Congress and the state administrative organ under the leadership of Yuexi people's government. Its responsibilities are as follows:
