Gongmo Township

Gongmo township is under the jurisdiction of Yuexi County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The township is located in puxiong District in the middle of the county, 33 kilometers away from the county seat, with a total population of 5305 and an area of 24.5 square kilometers.

In December 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province agreed to abolish Gongmo Township and assign its administrative region to Gongmo Town, which is located at No. 18, Gongmo street, Gongmo village.

Brief introduction of villages and towns

The township now governs 7 natural villages and 20 villager groups, including mopu, Gongmo, hanzaluo, bujiluo, DIGE, Yishi and chachamu. Gongmo township is close to puxiong Town, the largest town in Liangshan. The Chengdu Kunming railway runs through the whole area, and the yuezhao highway passes through the area. It is a place where Yi and Han people live together, mainly in agriculture. Located in the center of puxiong economic circle, it is the only way from the county seat to puxiong railway station. It is the area with the largest reserve land resources and the greatest development potential along the puxiong river. Agriculture has formed an agricultural pattern dominated by animal husbandry, forage and planting. The industry is dominated by the processing of agricultural products. Township enterprises mainly engaged in brewing and catering services have begun to take shape.

Infrastructure construction was accelerated. In October 1998, Zhongmian highway was completed and opened to traffic, shortening the mileage from Yuexi to Xichang by 34 km; at the end of 1999, the 220 KVA transmission and transformation power station of Chengdu Kunming railway electrification construction was completed and put into operation; in 2000, the 2 × 6300 kW TieMa II power station was installed

A number of small power stations such as sansanhe power station and Tiexi power station have been built and put into operation, and the power bottleneck has been alleviated to a certain extent. With the development of communication construction, optical fiber program control, mobile communication, wireless paging and Internet have been carried out, which shortens the space-time distance between Yuexi and the outside.

Opening up and attracting investment

Opening to the outside world and attracting investment have achieved results. In 1999, Yuexi was listed as a county open to foreigners. Through the way of internal connection and external introduction, investment promotion and so on.
