Menggan Township
Menggan Township, located in the northeast of Puge County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is 42 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 91.15 square kilometers and has a population of 6134 (2017). It has jurisdiction over three village committees, namely, Guli, Mir and Boji.
On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province agreed that Liangshan Prefecture should adjust the administrative divisions of some towns in Puge county and other seven counties, abolish menggan Township, luowu Township and haliluo Township, and establish Xiluo town.
geographical environment
Menggan township is located in the northeast of Puge County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, east of zhongliangzi and West Bank of Xiluo river. It faces luowu Township and Jile Township across Xiluo River in the East, DACAO Township and luogan Township in Luoji Mountain in the west, Jile Township in the South and jiatie Township in xiaoxingchang in the north. It is 2.5 km away from Pusan Road and 42 km south to the county seat. It covers an area of 91.15 square kilometers, with forest coverage accounting for 47% of the total area of the township and cultivated land of 4935 mu.
Menggan township has a gentle terrain and a southwest mountain shape. Boweibo (at the junction of menggan Township and DACAO township) is the highest, with an altitude of 3012m, and the lowest is the place where Xiluo River crosses menggan Township, with an altitude of 1490m and a relative height difference of 512 M. Menggan township has warm winter and cool summer, long spring and autumn, four distinct seasons, long sunshine and abundant rainfall.
The origin of place names
Meng Gan, the Yi language is "Meng Gan Jiu Ba". A place once trodden by the horse of the legendary Saint zhigaar.
Historical evolution
Menggan township was established in 1952, and the township government was stationed in Dapingzi. At that time, it had jurisdiction over three villages, namely, MIR (formerly known as pugu), giriloda and sbuboki, with a total of 29 villager groups.

The main agricultural products are rice, wheat, corn, bean, etc. In 2007, there were 480KG grain per capita, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1950 yuan. The total output value of agriculture is 6.94 million yuan. The gross domestic product of the township is 21.53 million yuan. The total grain output is 4.11 million jin. There are 5696 live pigs, 456 cattle, 4215 sheep and 19696 poultry. The main economic projects are tobacco, sericulture and animal husbandry.
