Qiaodi Township

Qiaodi Township, Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is located in the southwest of Xichang, at the end of Mopan Mountain, a branch of yak mountain. It is 52 km away from Xichang, bordering AQI Township in the East, Yalong River in the west, Yanyuan Township, tielu township of Dechang County in the south, and Mopan township of Xichang City in the north. The total area of the township is 117.38 square kilometers. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. Along the Yalong River Valley, the climate is mild. The climate in the alpine area is cold. The forest coverage area is 135100 Mu and the pastoral area is more than 20000 mu. The township has jurisdiction over 6 administrative villages, 24 villager groups and 52 natural villages, with a total population of 7896 people (2017). The township government is located in Jiudao village.

Economics

The economy of Qiaodi township is dominated by agriculture and animal husbandry, with 7128 mu of cultivated land, including 908 mu of farmland. The main food crops are potato, corn, foster son and so on. In 2002, the total grain output was 2014 tons, the total agricultural output value was 18.28 million yuan, and the GDP of the whole Township reached 12.88 million yuan. In recent years, the Party committee and government of Qiaodi township have been strengthening the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure. The township vigorously develops the cultivation of flue-cured tobacco, marigold and other economic crops. In 2002, 1578 mu of flue-cured tobacco was planted in 5 villages and 16 groups in the township, with a total output of 3650 Dan and a total output value of 1.442 million yuan, of which the proportion of top-grade tobacco was 25.57%, and the proportion of middle and top-grade tobacco was 91.25%, achieving a good harvest in both yield and quality, further consolidating the status of Qiaodi township as the production base of high-quality tobacco in Xichang City. In 2002, two villages in the township planted a total of 700 Mu marigold, with an output value of 160000 yuan, which has become an important way to increase the income of the masses. After years of development, Qiaodi township has become an important supply place for beef cattle, mutton sheep and broilers in Xichang City. In 2002, 580 beef cattle, 9403 mutton sheep, 5010 pigs and 23500 chickens were sold. The output value of animal husbandry was 9.42 million yuan, accounting for 52% of the total agricultural output value.

infrastructure

At present, Qiaodi township has a Township Road (5km) from AQI to the township government and a Village Road (40km) from the township government to Shuitang village. In 2002, the township government invested 200000 yuan, organized more than 10000 people to work, and carried out comprehensive maintenance of the 40 kilometer village, ensuring the material transportation of Shuitang, masang, Yangdi, Gaoshan, Jiudao and other villages.
