Paiyang Township

Paiyang township is located in the central part of Qiandongnan Prefecture and the southwest of Taijiang county. The original 320 national highway passes through paiyang for 13 kilometers. It is located on the slope of the transition from Yunnan Guizhou Plateau to Western Hunan hills, that is, at the foot of Miaoling mountain, wengyou River and Leigong Mountain. It borders Kaili City and Leishan County in the southwest, Taigong town and Taipan Township in the southeast, and Nangong Township in the south. The total area is more than 122 square kilometers, with 7347 mu of arable land, including 6180 mu of farmland and 735 mu of soil.

At the end of 2003, there were more than 19850 households with a total population of more than 8510 people in the township, which governed 13 villages, 52 villager groups and 33 natural villages. The total output value (current price) of agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry and fishery is 13.37 million yuan, and the financial revenue is 480000 yuan. The total grain output is 3352 tons, including 2695 tons of rice. The per capita net output is 409 kg, and the per capita net income is 1440 yuan.

Paiyang township is rich in mountain resources, including 10 thousand mu of natural grassland in Nandao, more than 9500 mu of shrubbery, 2043 mu of vegetable forest, 42600 mu of low yield forest and 15500 mu of unused land. The mountain resources that can be developed and utilized are 97400 mu; there are abundant wood resources, the main tree species are pine and Chinese fir, and there are rare tree species such as Sambucus williamsii, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Cyclobalanopsis glauca, Taiwania flousiana, etc. The forest coverage rate is 64.3%, and the timber volume is 653000 cubic meters (pine, fir, miscellaneous, etc.). There are abundant wild medicinal resources, such as bingqiuzi, eucommia, phellodendron, Gastrodia elata, etc. Wild green food such as bracken, solid bamboo, etc. Jiupai, a village with well preserved national culture, has the only Drum Tower of the Miao nationality, and national handicrafts such as silver ornaments and wooden combs, which are popular both inside and outside the province. At present, 1585 mu of Jinqiu pear base, 800 mu of wild bayberry high-tech grafting base, 15 mu of spinach base and 5 mu of bamboo cup base have been built. In terms of attracting investment, we have successfully introduced a foreign-funded enterprise - qiangfa rosin factory.

Education and related construction

In terms of culture, education and health, there are 12 schools in the township, including 10 primary schools, 1 junior primary school and 7 teaching centers. Junior middle school has been abolished in 2001, and only 4 classes have been set up so far. There are 1103 students, 79 full-time teachers, 15 senior primary school students, 62 primary school students and 2 secondary school students. Two new free education projects, ranbei and Zhongxin primary schools, and Yanzhai hope project primary school, covering an area of 1200 square meters, have been built to solve the enrollment problem of 360 students. There is a main hospital of township health and 12 main rooms of village health.
