Nieke Township

Nieke township is under the jurisdiction of Ganzi County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Before liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of the chieftain of holdonggu. Nike township is located in the northeast of the county, with an area of 397.92 square kilometers and a population of 1612 (2017).

Nieke township is located in the northeast of the county, 105 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over Zhangda village, Erwei village, Renda village, Pengda village, buridengcuo village, Duoyi village and changgu village

Historical evolution

In 1956, shangnibagou Township and xianibagou Township were established; in 1959, the two townships were merged to establish nibagou township; in 1960, the commune was changed; in 1983, the township was restored; in 1984, the name of nibagou township was changed.

economic development

Yak and goat are the main pastures in Nike township. The territory produces herbs, snow even flowers, Astragalus and other valuable medicinal materials. There are abundant gold deposits along both banks of Niqu river.
