Zongmai Township

Zongmai township is under the jurisdiction of Luhuo County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Before liberation, it belonged to Wasi and gelangma tribes. Zongmai township is located in the northeast of the county, 83 kilometers away from the county.

General situation

It covers an area of 1174.29 square kilometers and has a population of 3316 (2017). It has jurisdiction over six village committees, namely rongshama, AWU, benxue, ranyu, gamai and Sanguo.

Historical evolution

In 1960, it was established in Maixiang; in 1966, it was changed into maicommune; in 1984, it was restored to Maixiang.

economic development

Zongmai township is mainly engaged in animal husbandry, producing butter, meat, cattle and sheep fur and other animal products. There are Fritillaria and other medicinal materials and precious animals such as Swertia deer.
