Qiawan Town, subordinate to Nanfeng County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the Northeast suburb of Nanfeng County. The town government is 9 kilometers away from the county seat, connecting Dongping Township in the East, Laixi Township in the south, Shangtang town in Nancheng County in the north, Qincheng town in Nancheng county and Lita town in Nancheng County across the river in the West. It covers a total area of 107.11 square kilometers, and has 11 administrative villages, 88 natural villages and 121 village groups. In late 2018, the town had 18 thousand and 500 registered residence population.

Historical evolution

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xiping, Houju and other townships in qiawan district.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to three districts: qiawan, Xiping, Changling, Laixi, Taoyuan, Huangjia and Shangdian. In 1958, qiawan commune was established. In 1984, qiawan people's commune was transformed into qiawan township.

On March 2, 2001, Chawan township was abolished and Chawan town was established.

Nanfeng station is located in qiawan town. The station house is of line side flat type, manual pile cap and independent foundation, reinforced concrete frame main body + prestressed reinforced concrete roof. The main body of the station house has one floor and partial two floors, with a height of 18 meters and a total construction area of 3499 square meters.

History and culture

The origin of place names

Qiawan, formerly known as "Luoxi", was renamed as "qiawan" because it is located in Canglang River Bay, 500 meters in front of it, converges with oar pit water and flows into Xujiang river.

Traditional villages

On December 9, 2016, qiawan village was announced as the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development of the people's Republic of China, the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China, the State Administration of cultural relics, the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China, the Ministry of land and resources of the people's Republic of China, the Ministry of agriculture of the people's Republic of China and the National Tourism Administration of the people's Republic of China.

Honorary title

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name qiawan town as a national health township for the period of 2017-2019.
