Murong Township

Murong township is under the jurisdiction of Yajiang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Qing Dynasty belongs to Daofu county. It was under the jurisdiction of qianning County in the 26th year of the Republic of China. Murong township was set up in 1956. In 1966, it was changed into HongRi commune. In 1979, it was renamed Murong commune, and was transferred to Yajiang County. In 1984, it was restored.

Mulong township is located in the north of Yajiang County, connected with Longji township of Kangding County in the East, Gala Township in the south, waduo Township in the West and Daofu County in the north. It covers an area of 565.75 square kilometers. It governs 7 administrative departments and 9 villager groups, with a total population of 2143 (2017), all of whom are Tibetan. Angui village, where the township government is located, is 3500 meters above sea level. The main products in the territory are highland barley, potato, etc., which belong to half farming and half grazing. Mulong Township mainly produces wheat, potato and corn in agriculture, and cattle and sheep in animal husbandry. there is the famous marriage gorge on the Yalong River. Its family form, marriage customs, clothing culture and food culture are extremely unique; the famous qingdagou Forest Park is in the territory, with rich cultural tourism resources. There are the first lithium ash ore, lead ore and zinc ore in Asia to be developed. The traffic is inconvenient and there is no electricity.
