Xiaodian town of Yanjin County is located at the intersection of Beijing Zhuhai Expressway and national highway 107, where the new Changbei line passes through. It has jurisdiction over 29 administrative villages with 35140 people. In 2001, the gross national product of the town was 2.897 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 2.140 yuan.

The industry of Xiaodian town includes not only the old famous brand "Xiaodian brand" kitchen knife factory built in the late Qing Dynasty, but also the Xinxiang piston factory which develops and produces "Xinxiang brand" WP series pistons. This product has reached the international level and filled the domestic blank. Jingcheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd., color aluminum plate printing plant, Cologne copper tube branch and other foreign-funded enterprises have settled down in Xiaodian town and achieved high benefits.
