Xiao Xing Xiang

Xiaoxing township is a township under the jurisdiction of Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Xiaoxing township is located in the south of the county, 32 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 312.58 square kilometers and has a population of 2499 (2017). The railway passes through the territory by the highway. It has jurisdiction over six village committees, namely, Beizi temple, Guna, Ping'an, Xinfeng, Aixi and darbian.

General situation

The people in the area believe in the Tibetan Buddhism of Benbo and Gelu, and live in the Tibetan, Qiang, Hui, Han and other ethnic groups, belonging to the semi farming and semi pastoral area and the seriously ill area of Kaschin Beck disease. In the township, 3540 mu of grain crops are sown, with a total yield of 867 tons; 356 mu of economic crops are sown, and 629 mu of other crops are sown. In 2009, 486 cattle, 2144 sheep and 1041 pigs were sold; the per capita net income of farmers reached 3265 yuan, an increase of 582 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.69%.

Historical evolution

In 1951, it belonged to the Tibetan Autonomous Region with a big surname; in 1956, it set up a small surname township; in 1973, it changed into a commune; and in 1984, it returned to the township.

economic development

Xiaoxing Township mainly produces wheat, highland barley and broad bean. Animal husbandry is dominated by cattle, sheep and pigs. There are Songpan Forestry Bureau, a state-owned forestry enterprise.
