Hanniu Village

Hanniu township is located in the southwest of Xiaojin county and the east of hanniu district. It is located in the hinterland of the junction of two prefectures, one city and three counties, bordering Baoxing County of Ya'an City in the East, Kangding city of Ganzi Prefecture in the south, Wodi township of Xiaojin County in the west, and Meiwo Township and salon township of Xiaojin County in the northeast. The altitude is 2840 meters and the area is 321.55 square kilometers.

There are 1785 people (2017) in the township, with a cultivated land area of 4294.82 mu; there are 14693 livestock of various types; 2182.6 mu of farmland is converted to forest; the territory is rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 37%; the existing grassland area is 140000 mu. The main crops in the township are wheat, corn, potato, pea, pea and rape. There are yak, cattle, pig, sheep, horse and so on. Walnut and pepper are the main economic trees.

By the end of 2015, the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen had reached 8303 yuan.

Historical evolution

Hanniu township was established in 1954; the commune was changed in 1958; Yonghong commune was renamed in 1966; and hanniu township was restored in 1978.
