Jiaocun Town, Gaoxian County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province is located in the south of Gaoxian County, known as the South Gate of Gaoxian county. It covers an area of 85.72 square kilometers, with 143 communities in 16 villages and a total population of 26714 (2017). Historical evolution
In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the first and second class of Suilai Township in Gaoxian county. In 1929, Jiaocun township was established in the Republic of China. In the 24th year of the Republic of China, the joint insurance system was changed. In November of the 29th year of the Republic of China, the joint protection of Longtan Temple was incorporated and restored to the township. In the 30 years of the Republic of China, the former joint protection of Longtan Temple was set aside. In February 1951, it was divided into Jiaocun Township and Tancun township. In February 1956, Jiaocun Township and Tancun Township merged into Jiaotan township. In October 1958, Jiaocun commune was built together with Longtan Township and Jiale township. In October 1959, Longtan Township and Jiale Township were designated. In March 1978, Longtan, vanguard and other six brigades of Longtan commune were merged. In April 1980, the six brigades of Longtan commune, which was originally incorporated, were divided out. In 1984, the township was restored and the town was established in 1992.
