Shilin Town of WUTONGQIAO district is located in the west of Minjiang River, 30 km south of Leshan City. County Road Chefu road passes through it, covering an area of 77.35 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over one community committee and five resident groups, 22 villager committees and 171 villager groups, with a total population of 20676 (2017).

Shilin Town is located in the southwest of Wutongqiao District, 15 kilometers away from the central urban area, covering an area of 77.35 square kilometers. Moxi river passes through from west to East. The north of Moxi river is a shallow hill, and the south is a mountainous area. The town has 14000 mu of arable land, 41000 mu of mountain forest, 1586 mu of water area, and the forest coverage rate is 38%.

County Road Chefu road runs through the north and south, and Shita, Shicai, Shiguan and Chefu roads in the town are all hardened. Shilin Town is connected with Xiba town of Wutongqiao District in the East, Fulu town of Shawan District in the south, Tashui town of Shawan District in the West and Caijin town of Wutongqiao District in the north.

There are 38 enterprises of various types, more than 6000 employees, 15 coal mines and 12 Industrial Enterprises above district level. The town has 6500 mu tea planting area, 5500 Mu fruit area, 900 Mu high-quality mulberry garden and 500 mu golden osmanthus sightseeing and leisure corridor in Wanchang. In 2006, the GDP of the whole town reached 553 million yuan (the output value of primary, secondary and tertiary industries were 60 million yuan, 420 million yuan and 73 million yuan respectively), of which the output value of scale enterprises was 240 million yuan. The per capita net income of farmers reached 3618 yuan, an increase of 305 yuan over the previous year. The family planning rate is 95%, and there are more than 5000 people who are employed in enterprises and migrant workers, with a total income of more than 80 million yuan.
