Gaoshi Town, belonging to Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northeast of Weiyuan County, Sichuan Basin. It is adjacent to Chenjia Town, Zizhong County in the East, longhui town in the south, Shanwang town and Puziwan town in the west, huangjinggou town and Songjia town in Zizhong County in the North. 12 kilometers away from Weiyuan County, Ziwei railway, neiweirong expressway, S207 provincial road, Qiuma road and Longgao Road pass through the town. It has been an important transportation hub in the north of Weiyuan County since ancient times.

Historical evolution

Gaoshi Town, formerly known as gaoshichang, is subordinate to longhui District of Weiyuan County. Before liberation, it was called gaoshichang. After liberation, it was called Gaoshi commune and Gaoshi township. It was officially called Gaoshi town of Weiyuan County after the district was withdrawn and the commune was merged. A long time ago, Weiyuan was not a county without gaoshichang. From Zizhou (Zizhong) to Rongzhou (Rongxian), there are two roads through songjiapu. One of the main roads is from changyantang to Weiyuan through kafangdian, Dayantang, tongjiasi and Wangjiaqiao, but it is a little farther away. Another small route, huangpo'ao, passes zhimapu and huajiaopo to Weiyuan. Although the path is small, it is close to four or five miles. Customers who take the main road often have to sleep in the card room, while those who take the small road often need to sleep in huangpo'ao. It is said that Huangpo on huangpo'ao (now called huangping'ao) opened a "black shop". If she and her wife see a merchant who has money, they will try to give you some medicine. After the hemp is turned over, they will kill you and sell it to other merchants. The human bones will be left in the leopard ditch. Therefore, people in the past generally do not want to take the path as long as they are not in a hurry. Instead, they are willing to take the road a little bit. Those who take the road are brave or don't know the inside story. Later, a man surnamed Li stayed in huangpo'ao. He found the clue and asked four of his brothers to come to huangpo'ao to live in the shop. Secretly changed the sweat medicine for them, pretended to be numb, took advantage of the opportunity of his two hands, four brothers work together to get rid of the black shop. As a result, their brothers opened another shop in shanaoli (about where Zeng Xiaoxian is now), which is called the old tea shop by later generations. Since then, more and more merchants have passed by, and their brother's business is getting better and better. Soon, another two families came to repair the house next to each other, and the business was still very good. Gradually, there are more shops and more people, forming a market. Because these houses are in the mountains, the birthplace of a river, the terrain is very high, formerly known as gaoshizui, people named it gaoshichang.

Geographical and traffic conditions

Ziwei Railway: Ziwei Railway (Zizhong Weiyuan Nihe): it starts from Zizhong station of Chengdu Chongqing railway in the north and ends at Nihe station of Weiyuan County in the southwest, with a length of 30.5 km. Built from 1959 to 1960, it has provided a solid logistics guarantee for domestic industrial development since its completion.
