Huguo Town, located in the south of Naxi District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, is the Pearl and charming ancient town in southern Sichuan Province, covering an area of 175.87 square kilometers. It has 29 administrative villages, 3 community neighborhood committees and 1 Rural Street Village community, with a total population of 61495 (2017). It is the second most populous town in Luzhou city.

Huguo town is a town under the jurisdiction of Naxi District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 175.87 square kilometers. It has 28 administrative villages, 3 community neighborhood committees and 1 Rural Street Village community, with a total population of 61495 (2017). It is a pilot town for small town construction in Luzhou City and a key small market town in Sichuan Province. The town government is located at 18 Government Street, huguoyan community. It is located in the intersection of Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing, and in the south of Naxi district. It is a combination of the old Huguo town and Huaguo town. It is the most populous and economically strong town in Naxi district. It is also one of the 22 key towns in Luzhou City, one of the top ten charming towns in Luzhou City, one of the 100 small town demonstration towns in Sichuan Province, one of the business logistics demonstration towns in Sichuan Province, and one of the national one village one product demonstration towns. Historical evolution

Huguo Town, formerly known as xupengxi, was built in the early Qing Dynasty. In 1929, it was renamed Huguo town to commemorate the movement of protecting the country and fighting against yuan. In 1941, it was changed to Huguo Township under the jurisdiction of Xuyong county. In 1951, it was transferred to Naxi county. In 1958, it was changed to Huguo commune. On September 13, 2002, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, the former Huguo town and Huaguo town were formally merged to form Huguo town. It has jurisdiction over 35 administrative villages, 8 neighborhood committees and 291 villager groups, with a total population of 61653 and 17325 households, including 54616 agricultural population and 14954 agricultural households. The market town covers an area of 2.3 square kilometers.

In 2017, the urban built-up area is 3.5 square kilometers, with 28 administrative villages, 3 communities and 1 neighborhood committee. The total population is nearly 80000, including 32000 urban residents.

Huguo town is the earliest area of tea sprouting in the same latitude of the world. The unique feature of the tea in Huguo town lies in the word "early". Compared with other tea districts in the country, it takes 45 days in the morning to taste the fresh Huguo tea, even on New Year's Eve. In 2011, the geographical indication of "naxite early tea" was officially recognized by the Ministry of agriculture. In 2013, Huguo Town, Naxi District, was named as "the hometown of special early tea in China" by China Tea Circulation Association, and became the only "hometown of special early famous tea" in Sichuan Province. The town has developed more than 100000 mu of tezao tea and built a demonstration area of Sichuan tezao tea. Huguo tezao tea has unique advantages, with four characteristics of "special production environment", "earliest time to market", "superior tea quality" and "profound cultural connotation". The "tezaocha" produced by Huguo town has won many awards, such as "famous brand product of China International Agricultural Expo", "Gold Award of China (Chengdu) International Tea Expo" and "production base of pollution-free agricultural products". Huguo pomelo

Huguo pomelo has been planted for nearly 70 years, with a planting area of 68000 mu, an annual output of 110 million Jin and an annual output value of over 100 million yuan. In 1994, it won the title of "national pomelo high quality fruit". In September 2002, it was named as "pollution-free agricultural products production base" by Sichuan Provincial Department of agriculture. In October 2002, it won the title of "famous agricultural products" at Sichuan western China Expo. In 2011, "Huguo pomelo" passed the national geographical indication product protection certification.
