Tangxiang Street

Tangxiang street, belonging to Dazu District of Chongqing, is located in the east of Dazu District, adjacent to Zhifeng town in the East, Longshui town and Baoxing town in the south, Longgang Town in the west, Zhongao town and Baoding town in the north, with a total area of 60.2 square kilometers, 0.5 kilometers away from the residence of Dazu District People's government.

In the first year of Xuantong (1909), there was Dongguan town in Tangxiang street; in June 2002, Longgang street was separated from Longgang Town and Chengnan Township. At the end of 2011, Tangxiang street had a total population of 62100. As of June 2020, Tangxiang street has jurisdiction over 8 communities and 4 administrative villages, and its sub district office is located at No. 1, Xianfeng Road, Baoen community.

The main food crops in Tangxiang Street are wheat and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry; the main industry is agricultural products processing and building materials.

History of construction

In 1909, the first year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty, Dongguan town was set up.

In 1920, Dongguan town was changed into Chengxiang town; in 1937, Guanyin and Taiji were established; in 1940, Chengxiang Town, Guanyin Township and Taiji Township were established.

In 1951, Xicheng town was merged with Dongguan town, taking the word "Cheng" of Xicheng town and the word "Guan" of Dongguan town as its name, Chengguan town belongs to the first district.

In 1956, it was changed into a county town.

In 1981, Chengguan town was renamed Longgang town.

In June 2002, it separated out from Longgang Town and Chengnan Township and set up Longgang street.

In June 2002, Longgang Town and Chengnan Township were abolished, and two streets of Longgang and Tangxiang were set up. Tangxiang Street governs the third grade street and Gongnong street of the original Longgang Town, most of the industrial and rural areas and 22 natural administrative villages, namely, 13 villages of Gongnong, Hongxing, Baoen, Changyan, xizige, upstream, Heping, Wuxing, Zhonghe, Tongxin, Shuifeng, Longquan and Qunli in Longgang Town, and 13 villages of Sanhe and Nanli in the original Chengnan Township Jiao, Jinxing, Jiefang, Shuangfeng, Yongan, Yuanqu, Yuntang, ranjiadian 9 villages.

In July 2003, Tangxiang street had jurisdiction over 5 communities of Baoen, Dongguan, Haitang, Wuxing and Hongxing, and 7 administrative villages of Shuifeng, Heping, xizige, Sanhe, Shuangfeng, Jinxing and ranjiadian.

In October 2010, Shuifeng village and Jinxing village were changed into Shuifeng community and Jinxing community.

By the end of 2011, Tangxiang street had jurisdiction over seven communities, namely Baoen, Dongguan, Haitang, Wuxing, Hongxing, Shuifeng and Jinxing, five administrative villages, namely xizige, Heping, ranjiadian, Sanhe and Shuangfeng, and 59 resident groups and 40 villager groups.

Hualong river originates from Hualong reservoir and joins Laixi river at Qingming bridge.
