Dafa Yao nationality township, a township under the jurisdiction of Pingle County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Pingle County, adjacent to Pingle town and Qiaoting Township in the East, Wenzhu Town, Zhaoping County, Hezhou City in the south, Dongchang Town, Lipu County in the West and Pingle town in the north, with a total area of 456.39 square kilometers. In 1912, Daba township was established. In 1997, it was changed into Dafa Yao township. By the end of 2019, the total population of Dafa Yao township is 18465, and the minority population is 9365, accounting for 50.71% of the total population, which are Zhuang, Yao and Dong, respectively; the Yao population is 9147, accounting for 49.54% of the total population; it governs one community and 10 administrative villages, and the township government is located in Dafa street.

In 2017, the fiscal revenue of Dafa Yao township was 9413000 yuan, including 625000 yuan of state tax, 378000 yuan of local tax, and 339 million yuan of fixed asset investment.

History of construction

In 1912, Daba township was established.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Daba district (nine districts) was established in August 1951.

In August 1958, the district was withdrawn and divided into Guangyun, Daba and sichong townships; in December of the same year, Daba commune was established.

In 1962, Daba commune was changed into Daba district.

In the spring of 1963, Guangyun district was merged into Daba district.

In April 1969, it was changed into Daba commune.

In September 1984, it was changed into Daba Yao township.

In 1997, it was changed into Dafa Yao township.

The intangible cultural heritage of Dafa Yao nationality township includes Changqi dance, Xianglong dance and Panwang dance, among which Xianglong dance is listed as the intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Located in Datian village, Dafa Yao nationality township, the milk rock waterfall is about 80 meters high.

Maweishui waterfall is located in Fuyao village, Dafa Yao Township, with a height of about 80 meters.

Chuanyan waterfall is located in sichong village, Dafa Yao Township, with a height of about 60 meters.

Dabainao waterfall is located in Guangyun forest farm of Dafa Yao nationality township. The waterfall is divided into three layers. The lowest layer is about 20 meters high and more than 10 meters wide. The buzzing sound of the waterfall can be heard about 3 kilometers away from the waterfall.
