Shizui Township

Old town name. See Shizui town for details. Yuanshizui township is located in the northeast of Wutai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, 62 kilometers away from the county, with an average altitude of 1800 meters. It is a high mountain area, adjacent to Fanshi County in the north and Fuping County in Hebei Province in the East. It is the South Gate of Wutai Mountain.

Evolution of organizational system

Wutaishan commune was established in 1958, Shizui commune was established in 1961, and township was established in 1984. Located in the northeast of the county, 85 kilometers away from the county. With an area of 82 square kilometers and a population of 4000, Xinfu highway passes through. In 2001, villages and towns were merged and tongqiangou township was merged.

Tongqiangou Township

Wutaishan commune was established in 1958, tongqiangou commune was established in 1961, and township was established in 1984. Located in the north east of the county, 95 kilometers away from the county. With an area of 65 square kilometers and a population of 2000, it governs 12 administrative villages including Lijiayu, Hongan, lifugou, Dadi, kezian, luojingou, tongshangzhuang, tongqiangou, Dongyulin, xiaoganhe, tongxigou and kouzi. In 2019, Shizui town will be established.

The whole township is an earth rock mountainous area, with overlapping mountains, thousands of peaks, steep cliffs, caves and gullies. The terrain is very complex and the vertical difference is great. The township has a continental climate.

The temperature difference between day and night is about 8 degrees, the annual average rainfall is 700 mm, the light is sufficient, the rainfall is moderate, and the rain is hot at the same time, which is suitable for the growth of crops in autumn. there are two main types of soil in the township, one is mountain meadow soil, the other is mountain brown soil. The soil is relatively fertile, and the main plants in the area are corn, potato, soybean and naked oats.
