Shangan township is located in the south of Qiongzhong County, Hainan Province, at the foot of Wuzhi Mountain. It is adjacent to Heping Town in the East, Wuzhi Mountain in the west, Changzheng town in the north, Diaoluoshan Township in the southeast and Baoting and Lingshui counties in the south. It is 24 kilometers away from the County, with a land area of 308000 mu.

Shangan township has the traditional national customs, beautiful mountains and rivers, charming scenery. Along the way, there is a group of cliff stone carvings carved with the words "hand to open the South wasteland", "one hand to support the sky, giant hand to lift the sky" and so on. Now there is a folk song base, which was named "the hometown of Chinese folk art" by the Ministry of culture in March 2003.
