Jiagui township is located in the northeast of Du'an Yao Autonomous County, adjacent to Fulong Yao township of Yizhou City in the East, Baiwang Township in the south, Jiudu Township and lalie Township in the west, laren Township and Beiya Township and Beishan township of Yizhou City in the north. The township government is 65 kilometers away from the county seat, and has jurisdiction over 11 villagers' committees (namely: 11 villages of Jiatu, jiadang, Kali, Jialong, Jiaqi, Jiazuo, jiapump, Tanghuai, Dasu, banmo, Jinman, including 3 mountainous villages), 229 villagers' groups, inhabiting Zhuang, Han, Yao, Mulao, Miao and other ethnic groups, with a population of 20028 at the end of 2000 and 21049 in 2005.

Jiagui township is one of the poverty-stricken townships in Guangxi. It is located in the semi rocky mountain area, with dashishan in the southwest and North, and many dry lands; it is relatively flat in the East, with many paddy fields; it is a canyon zone in the middle, with many flat lands, and the terrain inclines from west to south. The highest mountain is Jiuqiao mountain, with the main peak at 825 meters above sea level. There is no river in the territory, which belongs to subtropical climate. The East and west sides of the township are separated by Wolong mountains, which naturally form two parts. The total area of Jiagui township is 168.8 square kilometers, with 23790 mu of cultivated land, accounting for 11.62% of the total area, including 1457 mu of paddy field and 22333 mu of dry land. At present, the township has an annual output of about 8380 tons of corn, 910 tons of fresh cocoons, 1166 tons of rice, 343 tons of soybeans, 10000 tons of sugar cane, 190 tons of Muru and 20 tons of peanuts, commonly known as "Du'an granary". The township has 963 pond water tanks, 98226 cubic meters of water storage. On December 18, 1949, Jiagui township was liberated.
