Shangyi town

Dongpo District of Meishan City governs the town. Shangyi township was established in the early Qing Dynasty, Shangyi commune was changed in 1958, township was restored in 1984, and town was established in 1992. Shangyi town is a model town for the comprehensive management of social security in Sichuan Province, an advanced cultural town in Sichuan Province, and a "national civilized village" and a "provincial model village with beautiful environment".

On December 10, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Meishan City (cfzm [2019] No. 13): xianger town and Baima town were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Shangyi town. Shangyi Town People's government was stationed at No. 49, middle street of Jianzhen town.

In April 2020, it will be rated as the advanced township in implementing the Rural Revitalization Strategy in Sichuan Province in 2019.

Historical evolution

On December 10, 2019, Meishan Municipal People's government issued the reply of Meishan Municipal People's Government on approving Dongpo District and other six counties (districts) to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships (Meifu Letter No. 84). First, on the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Dongpo District (fourth), xianger town and Baima town were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Shangyi Town, and Shangyi Town People's government was stationed at No. 49, middle street, Jianzhen.

Shangyi town is located at the junction of urban and suburban areas, 2 kilometers northwest of the central city. It is adjacent to Tonghui street in the East, Baima town in the south, Qinjia town in the west, Duoyue town and Yuexing town in the north.

Area and population

The town covers an area of 62.27 square kilometers (2017), with 18 administrative villages, 2 neighborhood committees, 125 Village (neighborhood) groups, 17549 households and a population of 38582 (2017).

It has jurisdiction over 18 village committees of Quanyi, Renmin, Shunhe, huangmiao, Shulin, xionggong, Shouling, Yunge, Zhongxin, Taibao, Wanchong, Guanyin, Sanguan, mamiao, Qili, Shunhe, Yingrong and Quanyi, and 2 neighborhood committees of Zhongdian and Shangyi.

There are 10 kilometers of Chengle Expressway and 106 provincial roads in the territory, with significant traffic advantages. In the town, there are 40 kilometers of meiduoduo and Meiqin roads, 120 kilometers of village roads, and 95% of the roads to households. The landform is: plain accounts for 60%, hilly accounts for 40%, and cultivated land is 46600 mu.

The domestic network coverage rate is 100%, the telephone access rate is 95%, the cable TV is connected to every village, the rural power grid is fully covered, and the popularization rate of farmers' production and living electricity is 100%, providing good power guarantee for new industrialization, new urbanization and agricultural modernization.

（1） Agricultural economy

Shangyi town is located in shallow hills, hilly area accounts for 40%, flat dam accounts for 60%, fertile land. In 1999, it was listed as "the hometown of China's navel orange", with 12000 mu of pollution-free high-quality fruits such as bu you navel orange, which is "the hometown of China's rice", with "no specified animal disease demonstration base", provincial "pollution-free meat rabbit breeding base", "provincial famous and special new aquatic products demonstration base" and "WanMu vegetable demonstration base". In 2012, the industrial structure was adjusted to 18000 mu, the total grain output was 306 million tons, and the per capita net income of farmers increased by 1020 yuan.

There are 24 enterprises outside the planning area, including 11 Enterprises above designated size. The added value of industries above designated size is about 300 million yuan, the annual industrial output value is more than 1.5 billion yuan, the tax revenue is 26 million yuan, and more than 3000 jobs are provided.

（3） Tourism economy

The town has the largest rural temple in Sichuan Province, "blissful Temple". With shengjingyue, Jiusheng ecological park and Zhengfu Yuzhuang as the representatives, the farmhouse with the characteristics of sightseeing, leisure, conference and catering attracts visitors from all over the world. It receives more than 300000 tourists annually and achieves a total tourism income of 77.5 million yuan, which has become a highlight of leisure tourism in the suburbs of Meishan.
