Gucheng Town, belonging to Lixian County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Lixian County, adjacent to Honghe town in the East, Yongping town in the south, Yacheng town in the West and Mawu town in Minxian County in the north. It is 46 kilometers away from Lixian County, with a total area of 202.72 square kilometers.
In the thirtieth year of the Republic of China (1941), it began to set up Gucheng; in 2018, it changed from Gucheng to Gucheng. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the urban area was 12045. As of June 2020, Gucheng has 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of Gucheng is stationed in Gucheng village.
Grain crops in Gucheng are mainly wheat and potato, and animal husbandry is mainly pig, cattle, sheep and poultry. In 2018, Gucheng has 7 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Gucheng town is located in the West extension part of the North Qinling Mountains. The southeast part of Gucheng town belongs to the Liangmao gully area, with continuous mountains and gentle ups and downs. The other places have steep peaks and sparse vegetation. The northern ridge is the watershed of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. The highest peak in Gucheng town is located in Jianshan village, 2370 meters above sea level. The lowest Qinhe formation is located in Maimai village, 1750 meters above sea level.
