Baidu township is located in the Yunnan Guizhou Plateau, at the intersection of the two countries and three provinces, known as the "Golden Triangle". The township government is located in Baidu street, 52 kilometers away from the county seat, adjacent to Baisheng township of benxian County in the East, miaohuang County of Hejiang Province in Vietnam in the south, langheng township of Tianpeng town of Funing County in Yunnan Province in the west, and Chengxiang town of benxian County in the north. The border is 17.8 km long.
The township has 15 village committees, 136 natural villages and 151 villager groups, with a total of 4485 households (including 3 village committees, 25 natural villages, 28 villager groups and 2903 people along the border). There are five nationalities, Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao and Yi. The total area of the township is 280.9 square kilometers, with 21330 mu of cultivated land and 0.99 mu of cultivated land per capita. In 2002, the fiscal revenue was 522000 yuan, the total agricultural output value was 22.43 million yuan, the total grain output was 5391 tons, the per capita grain was 395 kg, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1297 yuan. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery have developed in an all-round way, and are rich in rice, sugarcane, live pigs, chickens and ducks.
