Toutang town

Toutang Town, located in Youjiang River Valley, is the west gate of Tianyang District, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 8 kilometers away from the county seat. It covers a total area of 126 square kilometers, and consists of two parts: Northern Tushan district and river valley plain. It has a cultivated area of 31794 mu, with a per capita area of 1.3 mu. It has jurisdiction over 8 village committees, 135 villager groups, and a population of 24000. Yongse second class highway and Nanning Kunming Railway run through the territory. Grain, sugarcane, mango, banana, vegetable and aquaculture are the six pillar industries in the town.

In 2002, the total agricultural output value of the town was 85.34 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2271 yuan. On March 31, 2002, Comrade Hu Jintao, then vice president and current general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, inspected Toutang town. For more than a year, Toutang town has taken the construction of "the first town in Western Guangxi" as the goal, adjusted measures to local conditions, and took "Beishan Forest fruit sugarcane, river valley sugarcane vegetable banana" as the idea, vigorously adjusted the agricultural industrial structure, established scientific and technological agricultural demonstration base through attracting investment, and continuously improved the per capita net income of farmers.

Urban construction

In the aspect of urban construction, relying on the second-class highway, taking land development as the breakthrough point, attracting investment and encouraging farmers to move to build new houses, we should strengthen the construction of large and small towns. The developed land area is 150 mu, forming three development zones: market, Fuyuan New District and Toutang town crossroads to gas station. There are 89 households and 113 foreign businessmen who have built houses in the Development Zone, 121 households and 146 farmers have moved to Xinjie to build houses, and more than 260 government units, schools, private office buildings, residential buildings and commercial houses have been built with a construction area of 80000 square meters. A commodity trade street with a length of 1000 meters and a width of 8 meters has been built. In accordance with the general idea of "landscaping of urban construction and standardization of residential buildings", the renovation of old buildings was carried out, and the buildings along the road were decorated with unified facades and high pole lamps were erected. There is a town propaganda and Culture Station integrating reading, science and technology training, which has realized the communication of radio and television in every village. There is a party school centered on the learning, education and training of Party members in the town courtyard, including a lighting stadium, a flag raising platform, a stage, and a collective canteen, as well as a propaganda corridor to form a peasant art team. The rudiments of small towns have basically taken shape. They have become pilot towns for the construction of small towns in Baise City and the autonomous region, and become a new star in the hundred mile civilized valley of Youjiang river. In terms of population and family planning work, the birth rate of the whole town was 8.41 ‰ in 2002, and the family planning rate increased from 97.5% in 1995 to 100%. For 14 consecutive years, it was rated as an advanced unit of family planning by the city (prefecture) and district.
