Shawan Township

Shawan township is located in the central and southern part of Hongjiang City, Hunan Province, on both sides of Yuanjiang River. The township government is 40 kilometers away from the town of Guizhou. It is connected with Shuping Township in the East, Shendu Miao Township and Hongjiang administrative area in the south, tuxi Township in the West and Taiping and xiazhou townships in the north. The township government is located in Shawan village, which governs 14 villages, 164 villager groups and one neighborhood committee, including Shawan, Shixiu, Xikou, Yueyue, Guanghua, Dutian, cherry stream, Jiankang, zhaitou, Pingyuan, laowubei, Pingyang, Wengtian and shengziyan.

The township is rich in oil crust rocks, Danxia landform, subtropical monsoon humid climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, annual maximum temperature 39 ℃, minimum temperature - 4 ℃, average temperature 18 ℃, annual rainfall 1432 mm.
