Nariang town

Naliang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was called rongshudong in ancient times. It is rich in star anise and jade osmanthus. It is known as the hometown of jade osmanthus and the hometown of drifting. It is located in the middle of Beilun river where the river meets Dongxing City. Naliang town is a central market town in the southwest of Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City and a key town in Guangxi. It was merged with Nadong Township in June 2005. Naliang town is located at the south foot of Shiwan mountain, in the west of Fangcheng District, 65 kilometers away from the district government. It is adjacent to Malu town and Dongxing town of Dongxing City in the East, across the river from Vietnam in the south, Dongzhong town in the west, Fulong Township and Shangsi County in the north. It is known as "hometown of heroes and important border town". It has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages, 3 communities and 398 villager groups, inhabiting Han, Zhuang, Yao, Dong, man and Jing nationalities. In 2017, the administrative area of Naliang town was 383.7 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 51084.

The local residents are mainly Han nationality, and their mother tongue is Cantonese and Hakka. This is the hometown of Liu Yongfu, Lin Junting, Chen Jitang, Lin Chongxing, Lin Chongshan, Liu Yuanqian and other famous figures. Naliang is one of the ancestral places of overseas Chinese and one of the hometown of overseas Chinese in Fangchenggang, Guangxi.

In January 2019, Naliang town was selected as the seventh batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China.

Naliang town is located in the west of Fangcheng District, Guangxi, 65 kilometers away from the district government, Dongxing City is only half an hour away from the national key development and opening-up experimental area. It is known as the "back garden" of Dongxing City. It is adjacent to Ma Lu town and Dongxing town of Dongxing City in the East, across the river from Vietnam in the south, Dongzhong town in the west, Fulong Township and Shangsi County in the north. Naliang town is rich in agriculture, forestry and eco-tourism resources. There are 120000 mu of cinnamon, 150000 mu of star anise and 6437 mu of citrus, with annual output of 954 tons, 940 tons and 2482 tons respectively. There are rich tourism resources, such as Sino Vietnam boundary river rafting (from fanhenab to dongxingjiangna), jiulongtan rafting, Yerengu rafting, Liushi Lvshu rafting, Yaoshan grand canyon rafting, Kangwang temple, Sansheng temple, Huangguan Yuanyang Lake, Beilong Yuanyang Lake, ancient Hakka cultural town, etc.; there are historical sites, such as the former residence of anti French hero Liu Yongfu, the tomb of Liu Yongfu's mother, and nariang Anti Japanese armed uprising Memorial Pavilion, Yong'an academy, Minglun academy, gusen academy, Rongchang academy, Shouwen academy, Shulin academy, etc. The highway along the border runs through the territory. Ma'an'ao, which is famous for the 55 bends of mountain road, has beautiful scenery. Gaolin Yao new village, Minsheng new village, Dahe village and Taohuaxi villa have become a highlight of the highway tourism along the border. There are Daban Yao, Xiban Yao and huatou Yao. Tansan and Lihuo are two border trade points approved by the autonomous region.

Historical evolution

Naliang town was first called rongshudong. Later, because of its abundant water, fertile land and high yield, it was named Naliang, which means Liangtian in Zhuang language. It was built in the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1661). Naliang is a famous historical and cultural city of Fangchenggang in Guangxi. It has long been the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Fangchenggang.

From May 1949 to August 1952, Naliang west district was established. On June 12, 1949, Naliang was liberated and the people's Government of Naliang west district was established. The people's Government of Naliang west district was under the jurisdiction of Naliang, Tansan Township, Beilun Township, Dongzhong Town, Fulong Township and naqin township. The district government was stationed in Naliang. In the spring of 1951, Dongxing town was preparing to build a city (county level), and the people's Government of Naliang west district was changed to Naliang Third District of Dongxing City, and the district government was stationed in Naliang. In August 1952, due to the change of Fangcheng District, the three districts (Naliang) were changed into five districts, with jurisdiction over 12 townships, including Damian, Nadong, Malu, Tansan Township, Beilun Township, Dongzhong Town, Fulong, naqin, Dafanpo, Minsheng and Naliang. The district government was stationed in Naliang and subordinate to Fangcheng county. In August 1955, the first people's Congress of Fangcheng County adopted the appellation of the original times of each district of the county, which was given the title of place name, and the three districts were renamed Naliang district. In October 1958, Naliang commune was withdrawn and established. In 1984, Naliang commune was abolished and Naliang town was established. It became a town under the jurisdiction of Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, with two communities and 25 villages under its jurisdiction. In July 2005, it merged with Nadong Township and the town government was stationed in Naliang community. Rongguang community will be established in August 2018.

Naliang town is one of the "four major market towns" in Fangcheng, with a built-up area of 2.6 square kilometers and a population of 12055, accounting for 37.7% of the town's population. The township enterprises in Naliang town have a good foundation. The township enterprises include construction company, red brick factory, weaving factory, power station, tea factory, forest farm, cinnamon processing factory, gas station, rubber factory, water plant, agricultural machinery factory, etc. Naliang Yanzhen craft factory and Naliang cinnamon processing factory all have import and export rights. Trade port

85 kilometers to the southwest of Fangcheng District, it is an important border trade port approved by the state to open in Fangcheng district. It also enjoys various preferential policies given by the state to border areas. Lihuo port is located at the junction of Naliang in the west of Fangchenggang City and Fengshan pass in the north and south of Vietnam.
