Gaoshang town
Gaoshang Town, subordinate to Xing'an County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Xing'an County, bordering Lingchuan County in the southwest, Baishi Township and Muchuan Township in the East, Cuijia Township and Xing'an town in the north, Rongjiang town and Yanguan town in the northwest, with an administrative area of 267.5 square kilometers. From the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, it was called Nanxiang. In September 1999, Gaoshang township was abolished and renamed Gaoshang town. By the end of 2018, the total population of Gao Shang registered residence was 49901, the Han nationality was the overwhelming majority, and there were a small number of Yao people. By the end of 2019, Gaoshang town has one community and 16 administrative villages, and the office of the town government is located in gaoshangtian street.
In 2018, there were 20 industrial enterprises in Gaoshang Town, including 2 large-scale enterprises and 2 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
On July 24, 2019, Gaoshang town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.
History of construction
From the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, it was called Nanxiang.
After the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), it was divided into three townships: Jiyi, Gaoshang and Nantian.
After liberation, it was once called Gaoyuan District, Gaoshang township (divided into shanggui Township and Nanshan township), Dongfanghong commune, Gaoshang district and Gaoshang commune.
In 1991, Gaoshang township was established.
In September 1999, Gaoshang township was abolished and renamed Gaoshang town.

Most of Gaoshang town is hilly and mountainous area, and the East and west sides are mountainous area. The middle part is hilly area from south to north. The highest point is in Trojan horse mountain of Zhiyi administrative village, with an altitude of 1138 meters. The lowest point is in zhaimei natural village of Mingtian village, with an altitude of 191 meters.

Gaoshang town is a subtropical monsoon area with four distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 19 ℃, the average annual precipitation is 1683 mm, and the frost free period is about 300 days.
hydrology
Haiyang River in Gaoshang town enters from miaojiao natural village of Xihe village and runs through the town from south to north. The river is 16.9 km long. Xibo river is in the northwest of the town and East River (also known as Baishi River) is in the southeast of the town. Three rivers cut the whole town into three valley areas.

Gaoshang town has 3358.6 hectares of cultivated land, 2825.2 hectares of paddy field and 1933 hectares of forest land. Its mineral resources include iron ore, lead-zinc ore and calcite.

Transportation

History and culture
Gaoshang town was formerly known as Huairen Township, or lingchuanli. Later, it was named Gaoshang town because it was located in gaoshangtian (hd) village.
Gaoshang town has four Dialects: Southwest Mandarin, noble local dialect, Xinhua dialect and Yao dialect with Xiang dialect accent.
Local specialties
The local specialty of Gaoshang town is gingko, which is the famous "hometown of gingko".
Famous people
Jiang Shenghu (1913-1938), a native of Gaoshang Town, was born in a peasant family. He was admitted to Guangxi aviation school in Liuzhou in May 1934. In the summer of 1936, he was a pilot of the 32nd squadron of Guangxi air force of the Kuomintang stationed in Yongning. At 9:00 a.m. on January 8, 1938, the Japanese invading army flew 14 planes When the plane attacked Nanning, Guangxi air force was ordered to fight with five planes; Jiang Shenghu, together with other pilots, quickly expelled the Japanese plane; at 2 p.m. on the same day, 12 Japanese planes raided Nanning, and Guangxi air force still fought with them with five planes piloted by Jiang Shenghu and others; most of the Japanese planes were beaten and fled; Jiang Shenghu found that three of them were lagging behind in flight and immediately fled After several hard battles, the plane was hit and fell to the ground in smoke. Jiang Shenghu was forced to parachute and was surrounded and strafed by Japanese planes. He was seriously injured and fell in Yongjiang river. Although he was rescued, he died on the way to the hospital because of his heavy injury. After Jiang Shenghu died, Nanning held a memorial meeting attended by tens of thousands of people, including Jiang Jieshi, Li Zongren, Bai Chongxi, etc Leading members of the party, government and army of the Kuomintang, Guangxi air force, Yongning police force and other organs sent elegiac couplets. Jiang Shenghu's remains were transported back to his hometown for burial in 1940.
