Dadong town

Dadong town is located in the southwest of Yingde City, 83 kilometers away from the urban area. It borders Feilaixia Shuibian town in the East, Lixi town and Qingxin Yuba town in the south, Xinzhou town in the West and Shaba town in the north. Dadong has a total population of 13183 (2017); it is divided into Dadong street, Miaohua, miaokeng, huangtang, Datian, Heping, Majiao, Huangsha, Longtan, Chendong and other villages. Historical evolution

Dadong was established in 1369, the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. The polder is located in Shankeng Valley, which is called "Dong" by local people, so it is called Dadong. In the 44th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1705), she was set up as the capital of Huaiyi. From 1836 to the Republic of China, LIUCHEN township was established. In October 1949, LIUCHEN township was divided into Dadong Township and Shuibian township. In September 1958, six people's communes were set up in the county. Dadong, Shuibian, Lianjiang, Lixi and other places belong to Yuejin people's commune.

In April 1959, the county was divided into 14 people's communes, whose names were named after the local names, and the Shuibian people's commune was established; in November of the same year, the Dadong people's commune was established. In 1983, Dadong District was set up, in April 1987 Dadong township was set up, and in October 1993 it was changed to town system.

Mineral resources include antimony, zinc, sulfur, iron, mica, potash feldspar, silicon, gold, etc.
