Dalang Town

Dalang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Yangshan County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Yangshan County, 20 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Yangcheng town in the East, qigong town in the south, Liuan village in zhainan Town, Liannan County in the west, and Libu town and Yangcheng town in the north, with an administrative area of 96.01 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence of the town was 17478. In 2020, Dalang town will have eight administrative villages.

In December 1957, the attached urban area was abolished and Dalang township was established. In August 1996, Dalang town was established. Qinglian Expressway passes through the territory.

In 2018, there will be two comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Dalang town.

Historical evolution

In 1952, Dalang district was under the jurisdiction of Fucheng District.

In December 1957, the attached urban area was abolished and Dalang township was established.

In October 1958, it was incorporated into Yangshan people's commune (later known as Fucheng commune).

In July 1961, Dalang people's commune was set up.

In March 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Dalang commune was established.

In October 1980, the Dalang people's commune was abolished and the Revolutionary Committee established the Dalang people's commune management committee.

In December 1983, the Management Committee of Dalang people's commune was abolished and changed to Dalang District Office, and the production brigade was changed to township system.

In January 1987, Dalang District Office was abolished and Dalang Township People's government was established.

In August 1996, the people's Government of Dalang township was abolished and the people's Government of Dalang town was established.

Economics

There are nine small hydropower stations in Dalang Town, with a total installed capacity of 3445 kW. Chakeng reservoir, with a capacity of 24 million cubic meters, was built in 1982. It is a type II reservoir in the province that integrates irrigation, flood control, power generation, water supply and other functions. The main timber forests are fir and pine, and the economic forests are chestnut, Camellia oleifera, powdered rubber tree and Phyllostachys pubescens; the food crops are mainly rice, corn and sweet potato, and the other economic crops are peanut, cassava, watercress and off-season vegetables.

In 2013, Dalang town achieved a total industrial and agricultural output value of 275.98 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.95%, including 172.41 million yuan of industrial output value, a year-on-year increase of 21%, 103.57 million yuan of agricultural output value, a year-on-year increase of 9%; 7183 yuan of per capita income, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; 2.975 million yuan of state and local tax revenue, 100% of the county tax task.

The main scenic spots in Dalang town are chakeng reservoir, Sizhong Dayan natural cave and Songlin natural cave.

Chakeng reservoir

Chakeng reservoir is located in the upper reaches of miaogongkeng River in Yangshan County. It is a tributary of Lianjiang River, with a catchment area of 33.8km2, an average annual flow of 1.34m3/s and an average annual water yield of 42.25 million m3. Chakeng reservoir is a water conservancy project, which mainly regulates the flow of power generation (guanpi power station), combined with irrigation, industrial water and other comprehensive utilization. The reservoir started construction in August 1978, impounded in 1984 and completed in May 1987.
