Shangguan town

Shangguan town is located in the northern mountainous area of Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, at the junction of Dongyuan County, Longchuan County and Heping County. It borders Yidu town of Longchuan County in the East, Zengtian town in the south, Zhangxi Township in the West and Chuantang town in the north. It is 70 kilometers away from the urban area, with convenient transportation, rich resources and simple folk customs. The town has a total area of 97.48 square kilometers (2017), under the jurisdiction of the sun, Xinnan, Jiangtian, Xianchuan, Xinlun, Xiazhai, Xinmin, Changmei, LiBai, baiba, Suyang, Liangyi, Xianhu and other 13 village committees and a community neighborhood committee, 21421 people (2017). The total area of cultivated land is 14633 mu, including 13389 mu of paddy field, 1244 mu of dry land and 103077 mu of mountainous area.

In July 2019, Shangguan town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Shangguan town is located in the northeast of Dongyuan County, 114 ° 59 ′ E and 24 ° 6 ′ n, which belongs to the climate of the north loop. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest, which belongs to the terrain of low mountain basin. It is located at the junction of Dongyuan, Longchuan and Heping counties, bordering Yidu town of Longchuan County in the East, Zengtian town in the south, Zhangxi Township in the West and Chuantang town in the north. The town has a total area of 97.48 square kilometers (2017). There are two main rivers in the town. XiaZhai river is 12.5 kilometers long and its drainage area is 86 square kilometers; Xianchuan river is 7.2 kilometers long and its drainage area is 13 square kilometers. The two rivers converge and flow into Dongjiang River. The main mountain ranges are Xianhu mountain, Wuzhi Mountain, Baoshan mountain, Shitou mountain, Wuxian mountain, etc. Wuzhi Mountain is the highest with an altitude of 1100 meters, and the top of Xianhu mountain is 1080 meters. There are also unique karst cave resources in the town. Bixiu cave is 3 km deep, with a unique landscape. There are 500000 year old fossil animals found in the cave, which can be developed into a tourist attraction.

Hometown of tea

Rich in tea, is a provincial tea professional town. The total tea planting area of the town is 20000 mu, with an annual output of more than 400 tons of tea and an output value of more than 80 million yuan. "Xianhu tea" is a famous specialty of our town. It is produced on the top of Xianhu mountain 1000 meters above sea level. It is planted without pollution and has a unique taste of fragrance, purity, sweetness and smoothness. It is a famous brand product of Guangdong Province.

It is rich in limestone resources with proven reserves of more than 150 million tons. There are two cement plants, more than 20 stone rice plants and six large stone yards in the town, with an annual output of 400000 tons of cement and 30000 tons of stone, with an annual value of 330 million.
