Shuidun town

Shuidun Town, subordinate to Zijin County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southeast of Zijin County, 36 kilometers away from Zijin County and adjacent to Longcun Town, Wuhua County. The total area is 114.83 square kilometers. In late 2018, the population of the registered residence in the town was 27832. As of June 2020, Shuidun town has a total of 10 administrative villages.

At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the Fifth District (Longwo) and the third district (Longwo). In December 1957, Shuidun township was established. In 1993, the township was removed and the town was built. In December 2018, the Ministry of housing and urban rural development, together with the Ministry of culture and tourism, the State Administration of cultural relics, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of natural resources and the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, on the basis of the recommendation of all provinces (autonomous regions and cities), and the review of the expert committee, plans to include Qunfeng village in Shuidun town in the fifth batch of Chinese traditional village names.

In 2017, the tax task of Shuidun town was 2.01 million yuan, and the actual completion was 2.072 million yuan, including 1.49 million yuan for the national tax task, and 1.5 million yuan for the local tax task; 511000 yuan for the local tax task, and 572000 yuan for the local tax task.

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was a part of Qiuxi Society (about) and Longxia Society (about).

At the beginning of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Sixth District (Zhongba).

In 1929, it belonged to the third district.

In 1945, it belonged to Longguang town and Zhongzheng township.

At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the Fifth District (Longwo) and the third district (Longwo).

In December 1957, Shuidun township was established.

In October 1958, it belonged to Longwo commune.

In April 1961, Shuidun commune was established.

In September 1983, it was divided into districts.

In April 1987, it was renamed Shuidun township.

In 2007, Shuidun town had one junior middle school and 14 primary schools, 67 middle school staff, 130 primary school staff, 1289 middle school students and 2630 primary school students. Shuidun middle school invested 300000 yuan to improve the school playground and open the "school intelligence" information network. Shuidun Central Primary School was relocated and rebuilt, and the teaching building was capped. Free and compulsory education will be fully realized, and the school-age children's enrollment rate will be 100%. Thirteen students from Shuidun middle school were admitted to Zijin middle school. In 2007, Shuidun town invested more than 3.6 million yuan to lay 3 km cement road from Shuidun village to Muxian village of Wuhua County, complete 1 km hard bottom reconstruction of cement road from Songlin to Huangsha in Shuidun village, 5 km from Tiezhang in shanghuangkeng village to shanghuangkeng village, and 4 km from Likeng to Yanggao in Likeng village. Among them, 2 km from huashuxia to Nanfen, 8 km from Shuikou to Longwo, and 2 km from Shuikou village to Longwo chakeng were completed. The longzibu bridge in Yabu village, which was reconstructed with funds raised by the villagers and the masses. The power supply department invested 450000 yuan to complete the 10km reconstruction of low-voltage lines in Likeng, Yabu and some villages, and the 35kV substation project was established; the telecommunication department invested 160000 yuan to expand the capacity of duanbu village lines, and 90% of the rural broadband network "village to village" project has been completed. The coverage of communication network has been expanded. The number of fixed telephone has increased to 2900, the rural telephone penetration rate is 75%, and the number of mobile phone users is 1500.

History and culture

Shuidun is named because the polder is located under the pier on the Bank of the tributary of Beiqin river.

Qunfeng village, located in Shuidun Town, Zijin County, is geographically close to Chaoshan area. The architectural and decorative details of Qunfeng village have some Chaoshan style, such as painted window.
