ZHELANG Street

ZHELANG street belongs to honghaiwan District, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. It is located at the junction of honghaiwan and jieshiwan, adjacent to Tianlong street in the west, Dongzhou street in the north, and facing Dahu town and Lufeng City of Haifeng County across jieshiwan in the northeast.

General situation

Sheltering is an important link in the development of marine economy in Shanwei. It is a coastal tourism and port industrial economic zone. The street now governs a community and 10 villagers' committees in Gongqian, Hegang, shuiguiliao, shigongliao, Tianliao, hongkan, Guilin, Dongwei, Changgou and Xinwei, with an area of 24.7 square kilometers and a population of 23890 (2010).

It was originally ZHELANG town of Haifeng County in Huiyang area. In March 1988, it was merged with Shanwei, Tianlong, Jiesheng, Dongyong, Hongcao, Magong and other towns of Haifeng County. In 1993, another Red Bay Economic Development Experimental Zone was set up with Tianqian town.

In 2000, it was changed into ZHELANG sub district office. ZHELANG has been an important aquatic town since ancient times. It is located at the southernmost end of the Red Bay area. It is a peninsula extending to the sea and is known as Qilin corner in eastern Guangdong. The marine sports base of Guangdong Province is located on Nan'ao Island. It has successfully held the 1996 Asia Pacific windsurfing competition and the 2002 9th National Games windsurfing and sailing competition. The 2010 Asian Games marine sports will also be held here.

The streets fully mobilize the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of the broad masses of cadres and the masses in building a beautiful home, persist in beautifying the appearance of the village, and strive to improve the production and living conditions of the local people, so as to drive the transformation of folk customs, effectively promote the construction of a new socialist village and a harmonious society, and make the whole street countryside take on a new look. The sub district Party Working Committee was awarded the glorious title of "striving for excellence in the Guangzhou Asian Games".

On the basis of raising 3.22 million yuan and building 13 km long cement Village Road in ZHELANG street the year before last, another 1.92 million yuan was raised through multiple channels for the cement construction of Village Road, making the 25 natural villages in the street realize the hard bottom of village road. Shigongliao village raised 200000 yuan, not only built the cement village road of shigongliao and Zhilan port, but also reconstructed the sewage pipeline and harmless public toilet, which greatly improved the appearance of the village.

Tianliao village has mobilized compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao and people from all walks of life to donate more than 1.5 million yuan to build a 13000 square meter Cultural Square, installed 18 lighting street lamps and 41 decorative lamps, equipped with 2 basketball stands, 4 table tennis tables, pavilions, stone chairs and other facilities, and planted flowers and grasses, making the village a garden style street after sishizhu village Demonstration village. At the same time, ZHELANG street also effectively strengthened the environmental sanitation renovation.

The sub district office invests 2500 yuan a month to hire a special person to be responsible for the renovation of the environmental sanitation in the town; for the 25 natural villages in the whole street, each natural village allocates 500 yuan of environmental sanitation subsidies every year to help each natural village to rectify "dirty, chaotic and poor" and eliminate the sanitary corner. At present, in addition to the towns, eight villages in ZHELANG street have completed water supply projects, which have solved the problem of farmers' difficulty in drinking water. At the end of 2009, the street took the lead in completing all the land acquisition work of shanzhe highway renewal project in the whole district, ensuring the normal construction progress of shanzhe highway renewal project in ZHELANG section, and completing the road construction reconstruction project and environmental improvement project in the construction competition area in advance.

ZHELANG street also vigorously promotes the change of customs, advocates the new trend of civilization, and promotes social harmony. Cultural squares and cultural rooms have been built in 11 administrative villages (residences) of ZHELANG street, so as to occupy the rural cultural position with healthy and upward cultural activities, and promote the transformation of social and rural customs. The street has established and improved the interaction mechanism of public security joint defense, the mediation mechanism of civil disputes and the early warning mechanism of anti smuggling, and further strengthened the comprehensive management of social security.

There were 47 civil disputes in the street, 45 of which were successfully mediated, with a success rate of 95%. The construction of the homestead on the south side of Tongnan road in the street caused a dispute over the width of the drainage ditch and roadway. 12 households asked to adjust the roadway to facilitate production and life. The main leaders of the street personally did in-depth ideological work and conducted negotiation and mediation, and successfully persuaded one of the householders of the homestead to give up 1.32 meters wide as the roadway land, so that this problem was successfully solved.

This street is the site of the sailing and windsurfing event in Shanwei area of the 16th Asian Games. The Party Working Committee of ZHELANG sub district gives full play to the fighting fortress and vanguard role of grass-roots party organizations, takes participating in, serving and supporting the Asian Games as an important practice in the construction and service work of Shanwei competition area of the Asian Games, closely combines the activities of striving for excellence with serving the Asian games, practically strengthens the organization and leadership of competition area work, and solidly promotes the competition with the strength of the whole sub district The construction and service work of the district has successfully completed the tasks assigned by the higher authorities and made outstanding contributions to the success of the Guangzhou Asian Games.

On January 6, 2021, it was announced as the second batch of tourist towns in Guangdong Province by Guangdong Provincial Department of culture and tourism.
