Located 22 kilometers southeast of Longshan County, Hunan Province, it is adjacent to hongyanxi town in the East, Xiluo Township and Zhaoshi town in the west, Luota Township in the south, ciyantang Township and xinglongjie Township in the north. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xiata and XiaChen township.

history

In 1950, it belonged to Maoping, Wanfu, fenggou and shuishaping. Mao Ping commune was established in 1958. In 1984, the commune was withdrawn and Maoping township was built. The total area is 94.20 square kilometers, including 485 hectares of paddy fields and 402.4 hectares of dry soil.

Longguan, Zilong, Changfeng, Fuxing, Xingwang, Zhuke, Guangrong, LAOCHANG, ganba, Xinchang, shuishaping, Chayuan, Jinsha, qingkouao 14 villages, 3489 households, 13963 people. The township is a high mountain platform with abundant bituminous coal reserves.

It mainly produces rice, corn and sorghum. Flue cured tobacco is the main economic crop. The forest is dominated by pine and fir. There are 1 Jinsha hope middle school, 19 primary schools and 1 health center.
