Xingtian Street

Xingtian street, subordinate to Xingning City, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle of Ningjiang basin, southwest of Xingning City. It borders Ningxin street in the East, Fuxing street and Xinpi town in the west, and Ningzhong town in the north. The total area is 31 square kilometers. By the end of 2010, the total population of Xingtian street was 152532. By 2019, Xingtian street has jurisdiction over 12 communities and 6 administrative villages.

Xingtian street has been the seat of the county government since 1369. From 1937 to 1949, it was the sixth (ninth) Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision of Guangdong Province. After the liberation of Xingning, in May 1949, the people's democratic government attached to the urban area was established. In October 1950, it was renamed urban people's government. In February 1988, the town was renamed Xingcheng town. In November 2004, with the consent of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Xingning City abolished Xingcheng town and established Xingtian street. Xingtian street is an integral part of the urban center of Xingning City, and the seat of Xingning municipal Party committee and government.

In 2000, there were 3722 private enterprises in Xingtian street, with a total industrial output value of 299 million yuan, 47.3 times higher than that in 1979, accounting for 95.48% of the total industrial and agricultural output value, and 4.45 percentage points higher than that in 1979.

Historical evolution

Xingtian street has been the seat of the county government since 1369.

Before 1929, Xingcheng was directly managed by the county government. In 1921, the attached town office was set up to manage town administration and public security. From 1937 to 1949, it was the sixth (ninth) Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision of Guangdong Province.

After the liberation of Xingning, in May 1949, the people's democratic government attached to the urban area was established.

In October 1950, it was renamed urban people's government.

In 1957, it was renamed the urban people's Committee.

In June 1959, the urban people's commune was established.

In November 1983, the Standing Committee of the Sixth People's Congress of Xingning County deliberated and approved the "plan for removing social organizations into districts and building townships", and decided to change the "political and social integration" system. The county has 28 district offices and 1 town. The people's communes of cities and towns shall be abolished and the governments of cities and towns shall be set up.

In February 1988, the town was renamed Xingcheng town.

In November 2004, with the consent of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Xingning City abolished Xingcheng town and established Xingtian street.

In Ming Dynasty, there were 8 streets and 2 lanes in the county: Xianqian street, Xinjie street, Dajie street, Nanxin street, Zhijie street, Dongjie street, Xijie street, Houjie street, Dongxiang street and Xixiang street.

In the Qing Dynasty, there were fuguanqian, Nanjie, Beijie, Dongjie, xianqianzhi Street (Siqian Street), Xinjie, Xijie, Houjie and caoshiehang in the city; in the west of the city, there were 11 streets, such as lanmen street, Wansheng street, Zhenjiang street and Xinghua street.

In 1979, it had four neighborhood offices in Xingtian, Dongjie, Daxin and Hebei, and five production teams in the southern suburbs, western suburbs, Chengdong, Chengbei and vegetable farms. In June 1984, the five brigades were transformed into suburban offices as the agencies of the urban government. In 1987, neighborhood offices were renamed sub district offices, and suburban offices were renamed rural offices.

In 1989, the rural office was renamed the rural management area office.

In 1993, the vegetable farm management district offices were merged, and four management district offices were set up in rural areas.

In 1996, Ningjiang Administrative Region Office was set up.

In May 1999, the municipal government approved the transformation of five rural administrative district offices into five sub district offices.

In 2000, it had jurisdiction over 9 sub district offices and 96 villager groups.

In November 2004, Xingning municipal government adjusted the administrative divisions of the town and village. Four village committees, Guanling, Yilian, Yanggang and mizhai, were set up in Xinpi Town, which were under the jurisdiction of Xingtian sub district office.

Xingning people's Park

Xingning people's Park is located in the middle of Xingtian 1st Road, north of Gongyuan road and three lanes of Gongyuan road. It was founded in 1989. The park covers an area of about 3.57 hectares, of which the water area is about 1.14 hectares, with a greening rate of more than 85%. From its establishment to 2009, the park has received 15 million tourists. There are children's Cultural Palace (former), Xingning City Museum (the first county and city level museum in eastern Guangdong), Xingning County Liberation Monument, etc. in the park, there is a clock tower built in 1994 to commemorate the removal of the county to establish a city, with a height of 33.1 meters, which is a landmark of the area.

Xingning Museum

Xingning museum was founded in 1983 (formerly known as Xingning County Cultural Relics purchasing station). Its current office address is located in Xingtian Street office people's Park, Xingning City. It was built in 1997. The building is two and a half stories high, with a building area of 1500 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 650 square meters. There are 3288 pieces / set of cultural relics in the museum, including 6 pieces / set of first-class cultural relics (chime bells), 9 pieces / set of second-class cultural relics, 193 pieces / set of third-class cultural relics and 1792 pieces / set of non class cultural relics.
