Lanzhong town

Lanzhong town is located above HUAIJI County, adjacent to Lengkeng Town, vice County of HUAIJI in the East, Hezhou in Guangxi in the west, maning town and Gangping town in the south, and Lianshan County in the north. 38 kilometers away from the county seat, it has provincial Sanyue nature reserve, Shuangxing geothermal hot spring, Xiazhu reservoir and other tourism resources. There are 8 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee and 39 natural villages under its jurisdiction. In 2016, the total population is 25028. The total area of the town is 210 square kilometers, with 866.67 hectares of cultivated land, including 548.9 hectares of paddy field and 317.77 hectares of dry land.

In 2019, Lanzhong town was selected into the list of forest towns in Guangdong Province.

Lanzhong town is located in the northwest of HUAIJI County, adjacent to Lengkeng town in the East, Hezhou in Guangxi in the west, maning town and Gangping town in the south, and Lianshan County in the north. It is 38 kilometers away from the county.

Climatic characteristics

It belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate. Affected by the monsoon, the solar radiation is strong, the light is sufficient, the rainfall is abundant, the climate is warm, the winter is short, the summer is long, and the frost free period is long. The wind direction changes obviously from season to season, with southeast wind prevailing in summer and north wind prevailing in winter.

There are 463700 cubic meters of standing trees in the town, and two county-level forest farms, Yueshan and Wenquan, covering a total area of 95000 mu. There are famous "bluebell fir", pine, Phoebe, red litchi and other valuable wood inside and outside the county, as well as bamboos such as Chagan bamboo and green bamboo, which are most beneficial to the processing of bamboo and wood products.

Mineral resources

There are potassium feldspar, quartz, kaolin, crystal ore, mica, granite, rare earth, etc. The silicon content of quartz is 99.53% and that of kaolin is 71.5%. It is a good raw material for ceramic industry. The reserves of potash feldspar, quartzite and kaolin are up to 10 million tons, with great exploitation potential.

Water resources

The town is crisscross with mountains and streams, rich in water resources. The total reserve of the town is about 40000 kW, of which 30000 kW can be developed and utilized. At present, only 13000 kW has been developed, which can still be vigorously developed.

In 2016, 26.7 km of farmland irrigation project was completed, and the construction of water conservancy monument dam of Taiping power station was completed to solve the problem of about 6.67 hectares of farmland irrigation. The new land circulation area is 153.33 hectares, and the villagers are mobilized to use dry land, hillside land and idle land to develop fruit planting. In the town, 38.53 hectares of Shatangju, 10 hectares of honey pomelo, 2 hectares of damili and 63.33 hectares of Cunninghamia lanceolata are newly planted. There are 45 major pig breeding households with a stock of 7600, 13 beef cattle breeding households with a stock of 4500, 5 goat breeding households with a stock of 540, more than 80 bee breeding households, one hybrid pig breeding household with more than 80 heads and one female chicken breeding household with more than 200 heads. The construction of high standard irrigation and water conservancy in shaping, Ping'an and fogan villages has been completed, with a total length of about 26.7 km of three side canal.

The main project of wanggui hydropower station technical transformation project was basically completed and put into trial production in April. The company introduced the 30 million yuan intelligent lighting manufacturing project invested by Jiangmen Jiashida Lighting Co., Ltd. and completed the signing of the investment agreement.

In 2016, 327 people were born in the whole town, and the birth rate and natural growth rate were controlled at 10.42 ‰ and 7.69 ‰ respectively; 293 people were born within the policy, and the fertility rate was 89.6%.

Guarantee of people's livelihood

In 2016, we completed the expansion of endowment insurance for urban and rural residents and collected 5077 people. Four qualified farmers were provided with the procedures of full family relocation, 29 poor families were provided with mud brick houses and dilapidated houses, living subsidies for orphans were increased, and two orphans were assisted to enter the child welfare center of tuoxian county. The main building, interior and exterior wall decoration and 400 square meter courtyard greening and leveling project of the elderly activity center of the nursing home will be completed by the end of June. In November, the main works and decoration of the two-story eight room teachers' dormitory building of Jinguang school in Pingan village were completed.

The bamboo shoots planted by local farmers in front of and behind the village and on the banks of mountains and rivers are of good quality. They are famous for their thick and fresh, delicate meat, crisp and refreshing taste, and complete color and fragrance. They are known as "the king of bamboo shoots". They can be eaten fresh, dried and canned. The price is two or three times higher than ordinary bamboo shoots. The products are very popular. If you use "Huangqing bamboo shoots" to fry pork or chicken, it tastes fresh, crisp, smooth, tender and refreshing. You prefer bamboo shoots to meat. Even overnight, it will become moldy and rancid. If the bamboo shoots are not exposed, they can be eaten raw. They are as sweet and crisp as raw sweet potatoes. They don't need boiling water to fry the meat. They are more sweet and tender.
