Zhouzai town is located in the southwest of Guangning County, 19 kilometers away from the county seat and 10 kilometers away from the Gushui exit of Er Guang expressway. Provincial highway 350 runs through the whole town. There are two cement highways, Baiqing line and Gu San line, and Jinchang bridge crosses Suijiang River, connecting provincial highway 350 and 263. The town covers an area of 157 square kilometers, including 856 hectares of cultivated land and 12000 hectares of mountainous areas. It has a total population of 23100, including 18300 in agriculture and 4732 in non agriculture. The total industrial output value of the town is 130 million yuan and the total agricultural output value is 253 million yuan.

Evolution of organizational system

During the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty, it was laid in Luokeng. In 1937, it belonged to Jiping township. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of seven districts, Gushui district and Gushui commune. In 1961, Zhouzai commune was established independently. in 1983, it was changed to Chau Tsai district. In 1987, it was changed into Zhouzi town.
