In the Qing Dynasty, Xili area was under the jurisdiction of Dian Shi Guan of Xin'an County, including liuxiandong, Xinwei village, Xili village, xiahuangli, Xitou (Hakka) of Huangli, Dongtou of Huangli, Wengang Village (now Wenguang), chagang Village (now chaguang), Sankeng (Hakka) and Baimang Village (Hakka).

During the period of the Republic of China, the region first belonged to shangshahe township of Baoan County, and then to Shahe township of Baoan county. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Shahe Township, the first district.

When the people's Republic of China was founded in October 1949, it belonged to Shahe township of Bao'an county.

In 1951, it belongs to Xinwei Township and Zhuguang township (part) of the first district.

In October 1956, it belongs to Shahe Township, Nantou district.

In 19583, it belongs to Nantou township. In September of this year, it belongs to the production management area in Nantou of Chaoying commune.

In August 1975, Nantou commune was divided into Shiyan commune, belonging to Xinwei group, Zhuguang group (part) and Baimang group of Nantou commune.

In January 1979, it belonged to Nantou commune of Nantou district and Shiyan commune of Longhua District in Shenzhen.

In January 1981, the Baimang brigade was transferred to Nantou commune. In August this year, it belongs to Nantou commune of Luohu District.

Xili region is an agricultural farming area with cultivated land, fish pond, litchi garden, wasteland and so on. Because it is located in Yangtai mountain area, there is a lack of water.

Xili reservoir was built in October 1959. Xili, Xili, shangwangli, xiawangli and other four villages in the West became the reservoir area. After the completion of Xili reservoir, there are about 333 hectares of cultivated land in the area, including 227 hectares of Xinwei brigade and 106 hectares of Baimang brigade. They have been mainly planting rice, peanut, sugarcane and litchi, belonging to the area with more fields and less labor.

In 1978, there were more than 330 hectares of cultivated land, of which the total income of Xinwei brigade was 379400 yuan, all of which was agricultural income.

In 1980, Xili region became a part of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Xili reservoir Resort and Jiulong customs training base successively settled in, and began to requisition cultivated land sporadically: foreign workers came to set up or contract farms, and some small enterprises were introduced. When Xili office was established in October 1983, the agricultural income of the whole office (including Taoyuan) was 1.5352 million yuan, and the industrial income was only 2.68 million yuan. In 1991, 74 factories were built, with a total construction area of 131177 square meters and an investment of 31.438 million yuan. This year, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the whole office (including Taoyuan) was 56.88 million yuan. Among them, industrial output value was 39.45 million yuan, accounting for 69.4%; agricultural output value was 17.43 million yuan, accounting for 30.6%. In 1992, the rural urbanization reform was carried out. The original village run enterprises of Xinwei, Baimang, Dacheng and machun were transformed into joint-stock cooperative companies of Lixin, Baiwang, Dacheng and machun respectively, with a total registered capital of 41.45 million yuan and 1876 shareholders.
