Located in the northeast of Yongshun County, it borders Zhangjiajie City in the East, Tawo town in the west, Kesha and diaojing townships in the south, and Shaba town in the north. It has a humid climate in the Middle Subtropical Mountainous Area, with an average annual temperature of 16.4 ℃, an annual rainfall of 1445 mm and a frost free period of 280 days.

It has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages with a total population of 11200 (2017), of which Tujia minority population accounts for 92% of the total population. There are rich specialties, among which the chestnut in Zanhe village and the radish in cheping village are the most famous. the township actively promotes the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, planting more than 3200 mu of flue-cured tobacco, selling 540000 Jin of tobacco, with an output value of more than 3 million yuan. The total output value of the township was 1.88 million yuan, including 15.4 million yuan of agricultural output value. With the rapid development of education and health, the enrollment rate of school-age children in the township reached 100%, and the consolidation rate reached more than 98%.
