Quyang town

Quyang town is under the jurisdiction of Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. Quyang town is the political, economic and cultural center of the county. There are 61 villages and 8 community neighborhood committees with a total population of 92764 (2017). In 2007, the per capita net income was 6724 yuan. There were 12 grassroots party branches and 413 party members. The urban area was 8 square kilometers, with 543 mu of professional vegetable land and 2821 mu of mountain forest. The main mineral resources are gold, manganese and coal. The industry is mainly wood processing, building materials and chemical industry. Poria cocos processing products ranked first in the country. Rich in rice, blood orange and timber, it is the largest timber distribution center in the border area of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi. On January 17, 1981, the "Revolutionary Committee of commune" was abolished and the people's Government of Chengguan town was established.

On November 26, 1981, Chengguan town was renamed Quyang Town, and the town people's government changed its name accordingly.

In September 1998, Quyang Management Committee was established. It is the only urban management committee in the county that focuses on urban management and service. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the county. It has five community neighborhood committees and three professional vegetable villages. In November 2015, Pukou Township, hengjiangqiao Township and Quyang town formed an organic system and merged to establish Quyang town. Jiangdong has many mountains, few fields and vast waters. Qingdian mountain, the highest peak in Jingzhou, is located in Chengcheng village, with an altitude of 1173 meters.
