Butoujiang Miao Village
Butoujiang Miao township is located in the east of Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County, adjacent to lixikou Township in Zhijiang in the East, tianleishan forest farm and Zhongzhai town in the south, Dongping Township in the west, Dahongshan Township and yanggongmiao Township in Zhijiang in the north. Township government resident butoujiang village yuduixi, 47 kilometers away from the county. The township covers an area of 79.09 square kilometers (2017), including 11761 mu of cultivated land (9215 mu of paddy field and 2546 mu of dry land), 112199 mu of shancai, and the forest coverage rate is 91.45%.
Historical evolution
Before 1955, the township belonged to Baihe township of Zhijiang. In 1956, it was transferred to Xinhuang and established butoujiang township. In September 1958, it was changed into toujiang people's commune. In December of the same year, it was merged with Bozhou people's commune to form Liuzhai people's commune. In March 1961, it was restored to butoujiang people's commune. In March 1984, it was changed into township. In June of the same year, with the approval of the provincial people's government, it was withdrawn and butoujiang Miao township was established.

The township now governs 14 villages and 142 villager groups in gubaxi, tuluping, Youxi, Xinjiang, leijiatian, Tianlei, huaikou, Chashan, Laixi, tuxi, dabingxi, Huangyang and butoujiang. In 1995, there were 2858 households and 11210 people in the township. The minority population is 10442, accounting for 93% of the total population, including 5436 Miao people, accounting for 48.5% of the total population, and 4987 Dong people, accounting for 44.5% of the total population. 11596 (2017).
Geohydrology
The township is surrounded by mountains, with steep mountains and a small number of Bazi, belonging to the Zhongshan area. The main peak of Tianlei mountain is 1136.3 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak of Xinhuang. The lowest peak is huaikou qingxiebaxi, 9415 meters above sea level, with an average altitude of more than 800 meters. There are 9 streams, big and small. Xinjiang River originates from maomaoding of Tianlei mountain group, flows through Xinjiang, leijiatian, Tianlei, huaikou, Zhancun and lixikou township of Zhijiang County, and then flows into Qingshui River, with a length of 8.3 km.
natural resources
The township has a wide range of mountains and highlands, rich in resources, with a forest area of 102683 Mu and a standing stock of 163000 cubic meters, mainly pine and fir, with an annual output of 3010 cubic meters of pine and fir logs. Wild boar, musk deer, Golden Rooster and other rare animals often come and go in the mountains. In addition, there are 12340 mu of grass slopes in Caoshan, with a variety of forage species, green all the year round, which is conducive to the development of herbivores.

The township is located in a remote mountainous area, before the traffic is very inconvenient. In December 1969, the construction of Hebu highway (from Hetan to butoujiang) began. It was completed and opened to traffic in October 1971, with a total length of 29.5 km. By 1995, the township had built 9 simple rural roads, 60 kilometers long. And build Zhijiang in Hongshan to butoujiang highway, the bus can go directly to the county. Now it has 5 freight cars, 6 passenger cars and 15 tractors, and the traffic conditions have been improved. Lighting circuits have been set up in 14 villages of the township.
economic development
The economy of the township is dominated by agriculture and forestry. The per capita net income of farmers is above the middle level in the county's economic development. In 1995, the total grain output was 4201 tons, and 290 tons of grain were turned over to the state, basically self-sufficient. since the 1980s, township run enterprises, village run enterprises and individual and private economy have developed rapidly. At present, there are 3 Township run enterprises, 7 village collective enterprises and 187 individual and private enterprises. Township finance mainly comes from agricultural tax, industrial and commercial tax, agricultural and forestry specialty tax and county financial subsidies.

There are 1 general middle school, 1 Central Primary School and 14 Village Primary Schools (8 standardized primary schools). In 1995, there were 1547 students and 92 teachers in primary and secondary schools, including 12 private teachers and 4 substitute teachers. Local customs
Miao, Dong and Han nationalities have lived together for a long time in this township. Although their living habits have changed, Miao customs still have their own characteristics. Young men and women love to sing folk songs and wine songs. Every June 19 of the lunar calendar, beautiful men and women form a couple and go to tianleishan to catch up with each other to express their love. The main festivals are Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, July and half, Mid Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival and Spring Festival. During the Spring Festival, from December 21 to the 21st of the first month of the lunar calendar, the village is used as a unit or a group to play new year's gongs and dance dragon lanterns to celebrate the harvest.
