Heping Town, belonging to Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Yuzhong County, adjacent to Dingyuan town in the East, Mapo Township in the south, Qilihe district and Chengguan District of Lanzhou City in the west, and Jinya town in the north. The area is 142.93 square kilometers. In 2018, 31368 people registered residence.

In 1956, Heping township was established. In 1958, Jiangong community in Lanshan was established. In June 1964, after the commune to the township. In December 1998, Heping withdrew the township and built a town. In June 2020, Heping Town governs 18 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

After 1949, it belongs to Heping Township, Dingyuan District, Gaolan county.

In 1956, the six townships of yuanjiaying, shenjiahe, qijiapo, dachiquan and caizishan were merged into xinheping township.

In 1958, jielanshan established a commune, belonging to Donggang District of Lanzhou city.

In 1963, it was transferred to Yuzhong County.

In June 1964, Lanshan commune in Qilihe district was put under the jurisdiction of Yuzhong County, and then the commune was changed into a township.

In December 1998, Heping withdrew the township and built a town.

In 2002, laizibao 5 administrative village was put under Heping Town.
