Yingkou Township
Yingkou Township belongs to Hecheng District of Huaihua City, Hunan Province. It is a typical suburban township. Several streets in Huaihua City are developed in its traditional scope and extend to the west of Shimen Township and the north of Yangcun township. Because the traditional urban area is in Yingkou Township, the township government is located at 103 Fuxing Road, Chengzhong street, Hecheng District, which is the extension of the gate of the old Huaihua Municipal Government (later the district government). It is located in the urban-rural fringe of Hecheng City, adjacent to Tuoyuan street in the East, Chengnan street in the south, Gongping town in Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County in the West and huangjin'ao town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 13.63 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 16.13 km, with a total area of 69.78 square kilometers (2017).
Name and origin
This is the main waterway to Yunnan and Guizhou. In the past, there were many merchants, and there were many people in the port. In the eighth year of the reign of emperor Xi of the Tang Dynasty in the Qing Dynasty, there were post stations, barracks, armory, and a large number of soldiers in this place, hence the name of Yingkou.
Evolution and division
The Ming Dynasty belonged to Luyang County, the capital of Yuanzhou. In the seventh year of Zhengde, it was Yingmei township. At the beginning, it belonged to meisanli, Yuanzhou capital. In the 22nd year of Jiaqing, it belonged to Gongping Qili, Zhijiang county. Huaihua county was set up in 1942, which belonged to Yuping township of Zhijiang before, Wushui Township and Xincun township of Huaihua after. After the founding of new China in November 1949, it was divided into two districts, Wushui Township and Xincun township. In October 1951, the two districts were changed into one district, and 22 peasant associations were set up. In April 1953, the peasant associations were changed into small townships, including baiyanping Township, Fengping Township, Yingfeng Township, Xinken Township, Shuangxi Township, Yingkou Township, Jingping Township, Taiping Township and Huabei township. In 1955, the first district was changed into Yingkou district. In January 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. From Fengping, Baiyan, Yingfeng, Taiping, Shuangxi, Xinken and niaoxi, seven small townships in the Northwest were merged into Yingkou township. In 1958, the people's commune was established, and yazuiyan, Yangcun and Yushuwan towns were merged into Yingkou township. In 1960, Yushuwan town was set up alone. In 1961, yazuiyan and Yangcun established their own communities. In January 1975, Yingkou commune and Yushuwan town merged to form Huaihua town. In April 1979, Huaihua town was transformed into a city. In 1980, Yingkou township was separated from Huaihua City, and it was still Yingkou commune. In January 1984, the commune was changed to Township, and Yingkou commune established Yingkou Township and Yushu township. In 1996, the two townships merged into Yingkou Township, with 21 village committees and 180 villager groups, covering an area of 141.4 square kilometers. In December 2008 and July 2009, five villages including huangjiashan, Fengping, Baiyan, fangshiping and Banpo, and groups 6 and 7 of Tuanjie village were under the jurisdiction of Hexi sub district office. At the end of 2015, there were 16 villager committees and 137 villager groups in Tuanjie, Jingping, Xichong, Hongxing, Yingfeng, Yushi, hutianqiao, zhaojiashan, shiziyan, Shengli, Zhuxi, Xinken, Yantou, lutianchong, TANKOU village and Xinjiazhuang.

In 1952, the total population was 2263 and the total number of households was 4846. In 1959, the total population was 31636, including 6549 households, including 22915 agricultural population, 1887 males and 12766 females. In 1990, the total population was 18656, including 4766 households, including 17676 agricultural population, 9378 male and 9233 female. In 1997, there were 11267 households with a total population of 30476, including 16286 males and 14190 females. At the end of 2015, the total population was 33723. There were 16745 males and 16978 females. 50924 (2017).
