Shaibeitan Yao township is an ethnic township under the jurisdiction of Qiyang City, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. It is located in the southeast of Qiyang City, with a total area of 118.11 square kilometers (2017), 11 administrative villages and a total population of 6166 people (2017).

It is located in the southeast of Qiyang City, 88 kilometers away from the county seat. It borders Tashan Yao township of Changning City and Yangliu Yao township of Guiyang County in the East, Xintian County in the south, Baiguo Township and Ningyuan County in the west, and xiaojindong Township in the north. The township government is located in shaibeitan village, with jurisdiction over 11 villages and 55 villager groups, including shaibeitan, shijiaping, Jianxia, dayuanli, bijiangkou, moshiyuan, sansanling, yanzhushan, yezhuyuan, gaosuntang and xiaomingdong.

Shaibeitan Yao Township belongs to the Nanling Mountains, located in the eastern part of Yangming, with a span of 32 km from east to west and 25 km from north to south. There are huge hydropower resources in the Yao nationality township of shaibeitan. The Baishui River, a tributary of Xiangjiang River, is like a white jade belt and green mountains and waters. The total installed capacity of shaibeitan power station is 35000 kW / h, creating a beautiful scenery in the world.

Historical evolution

The place names of townships are still used. In 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of Ningyuan county. In 1954, it was assigned to Qiyang County as shaibeitan township. Rocket commune in 1958. When the system was adjusted in 1961, it was changed into shaibeitan commune. In April 1984, the commune was withdrawn and shaibeitan township was restored. In July of the same year, Jindong forest farm was entrusted with the management of shaibeitan township. In October 1984, it was the Yao nationality township of shaibeitan.

The township is dominated by forestry, with 690000 cubic meters of standing trees and 300000 Phyllostachys pubescens. There are abundant water resources in the territory, and shaibeitan hydropower station is under construction.

According to the development idea of "establishing the township by ecology, prospering the township by tourism, invigorating the township by attracting investment and enriching the township by industry", by the end of 2010, the total agricultural output value of the township reached 21.03 million yuan, the net income per capita reached 3676 yuan, the GDP reached 59.13 million yuan, and the township financial income reached 2.61 million yuan, three times more than that of 2006.

There is an open beach in the upper reaches of Baishui, where the three rivers meet. The mountains are high in the East, South and west to protect the sun. Only the North Bank of the beach has long sunshine, so it is called shaibei beach. The village committee is located in tangbeiling and has jurisdiction over five villagers' groups: tangbeiling, Sanjianhe, daqibabian, Lianghekou and maopingjiang. The total area is 11.9 square kilometers, with 6.8 hectares of arable land, 159 households and 555 people.

There is an old hollow tree on the tiger shaped Qishan mountain in the village. There are seven bamboos growing in the heart of the tree, which is named yezhuyuan. Later, it is homonymous for yezhuyuan. The village committee is located in Huxing and has jurisdiction over seven villager groups, namely Xiangxing, Huxing, Beiwu, Huawu, Dayuan, siniutang and dingdangyuan. The total area is 12.4 square kilometers, 31 hectares of arable land, 160 households and 586 people.

It is named after the green and clear water at the entrance of the river. The village committee is located in Dashiwo and has jurisdiction over four villager groups, namely Dashiwo, huanglianwo, shishanfen and gaodaiyuan. The total area is 9.1 square kilometers, with 3.6 hectares of arable land, 68 households and 264 people.

Because there are three mountains close to the territory, juxtaposed as a sharp fork and named. The village committee is located in xiamaliyuan, which has jurisdiction over six villager groups: chujiayuan, shangmaliyuan, sanshangzu, sanxiazu, xiamaliyuan and shuizhuxia. It has a total area of 15.2 square kilometers, 10.6 hectares of arable land, 152 households and 539 people.

It is named after the source of a tributary of Baishui River. The village committee is located in dayuanli and has jurisdiction over four villager groups: naitouyuan, dayuanli and jingshuiyuan. It has a total area of 9.4 square kilometers, 9.5 hectares of arable land, 141 households and 610 people.

In the past, it got its name because there was a mountain pond with lush Artemisia shoots in the territory. Later, it was used to write "Artemisia" as "high". The village committee is located in chabukou, which has jurisdiction over five villager groups: gaosuntang, chabukou, qingshanyuan, CHANGPENG and Zhongpeng. It has a total area of 8.7 square kilometers, 12.4 hectares of arable land, 93 households and 326 people.

Xi ǎ om í NGD ò ng

It is said that there are eleven branch caves in Jindong long gorge. The village is located in the last cave, originally called "Weidong", which ranks the smallest, so it is named. The village committee is located in huangjiaping and has jurisdiction over six villager groups: huangjiaping, laowuyuan, mapingtian, jingtangwan, aotouyuan and Xialiyuan. The total area is 11 square kilometers, 39.6 hectares of arable land, 164 households, 593 people.

Shi Jiaping

It got its name from the fact that people surnamed Shi came to settle down and develop in the territory early. The village committee is located in shijiaping and has six villagers' groups, namely, lucaotang, xialucaotang, shijiaping, tongziyuankou, shentangwan and niubeiqi. The total area is 6.7 square kilometers, with 11.8 hectares of arable land, 153 households and 647 people.

It's named for its smoky bamboo. The village committee is located in laowuchang and has jurisdiction over five villager groups, namely yanzhushan, xinwuchang, laowuchang and Huangtuyuan. The total area is 19.2 square kilometers. The cultivated land is 12.1 hectares, 121 households and 454 people.

Ji'nxi'an

The village got its name from under the water diversion Jian. The village committee is located in Zhangjiaping and has jurisdiction over five villager groups: Zhangjiaping, riverside, zhiziping, Yuexing and Xinwu. The total area is 5.8 square kilometers, 16.8 hectares of arable land, 130 households and 537 people.
