Tafeng town is located in the middle of Lanshan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, with a total area of 291.7 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over Dongcun, tafeng, southwest, Xiwai, northeast, Xinmin, guomu, Sanli, Heping, Liangjiang, East, Shemen, Gucheng, Chengfu, Hongtian, Wuli, Niucheng, Longquan, Shanwan, Zhuyuan, Dongjiang, nuojiang, Huaguo, xibutou, Zaohe, Yuanyuan, Gaoyang, Zhongdong and Fuzheng There are 37 villages and 6 communities in Baogan, Lingjiao, Bandong, Fuyang, paitian, Jianling, Shuikou and Shuguang. The population of the town is 158620 (2017). The town government is located in Gucheng road. In addition to the main food production, it also produces peanut, garlic, flue-cured tobacco, tea oil and other economic crops. Its local specialties include ginger, sugarcane, kumquat, medicinal materials, Gucheng eggplant and Gaoyang early pepper. Shun River, paitian River, Liusha River and Longxi channel run through the whole territory. The dulongmiao reservoir has 320000 cubic meters of water.

Tafeng town is the seat of Lanshan county government. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the whole county. The area of the county is 12 square kilometers. There are roads connecting Chenzhou and Yongzhou in the north, roads leading to Guangzhou in the south, and Yonglian highway and Erguang Expressway passing through it. The traffic is convenient. In recent years, the town has made great efforts to develop private economy and export-oriented economy. There are 1574 private enterprises of various types, with more than 25000 employees. There are more than 250 export-oriented wool weaving enterprises focusing on "three sources and one supplement". There are more than 80 wool weaving enterprises in the "wool weaving Street" on West tafeng road. The export-oriented economy has become the pillar industry of the town. The market centered on the southern Hunan border trade city and Guanglan trade city has become the distribution center of goods trade at the border between Hunan and Guangdong.
