On April 16, 2012, with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government, Anren County merged Chengguan Town, Qingxi Town, Heshi Township, paishan Township and Junshan Township into an organic system and established yonglejiang town. The name of the town comes from the name of Yongle River, the main river flowing through the county.
