Guanyuan town

Guanhuan Town, located in the southeast of Lixian County, is located on the shore of Dongting Lake, between the middle and West branches of Songzi River, surrounded by water on all sides, facing Anxiang County in the East, xiaodukou town in the north and qilihu farm in the south. It was named after the embankment formed by the government during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. The residence area of the town government is 27.2km away from the county seat.

According to the adjustment plan of township division in Li County, guanhuan township was set up as a town instead of a township, and qilihu farm and reed farm were put under the jurisdiction of guanhuan town.

administrative division

At the end of 2015, guanhuan township was set up as a town, with jurisdiction over six administrative villages: yujiatai village, niaozhou village, Changfa village, Xiantao village, Fenghuang village and neighborhood committee. With a total area of 81.87 square kilometers (in 2017), a total population of 16011 people (in 2017), the town people's government is stationed at Guanyuan Wharf (the former residence of Guanyuan Township People's Government).

Guanhuan town belongs to the transition zone of humid monsoon climate from middle subtropical to north subtropical. The climate is warm with four distinct seasons, rich in heat, abundant in rainfall, changeable in spring, extremely hot in summer, cold in autumn and cold in winter.
