Jiayi town

Jiayi town is located in the east of Pingjiang County, with a geographical location of 113 "50'44" E and 28 "39'6" n. The town governs 3 community neighborhood committees and 31 villages with a total population of 61890 (in 2017), covering an area of 438.62 square kilometers.

Jiayi town is the hub of Hunan and Jiangxi. It is close to Lianyun and Mi river. It is connected with Daweishan, Dahu and Yanxi in Liuyang. It can reach Jiujiang and Nanchang in one day. It is about 50 kilometers away from Xiushui and Tonggu counties in Jiangxi Province, bordering Changshou town in the East, Sanshi town and Fushoushan town in the west, Tongshi Town, Hongqiao Town and mujin town in the north, Liuyang City in the south, and 42 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a "famous tourist town with national characteristics". There are Gu, Xu, Zao, Lu Sidong and Fuxing mountain areas in the area, which is a typical mountain town.

On July 24, 2019, Jiayi town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Historical evolution

Jiayi Town, Zhengqi district. The people's commune was established in 1958. In September 1996, Pingjiang county's institutional reform was to remove districts, remove townships and merge towns. The original three townships of Jiayi, Xianzhong and xiejiang were merged into Jiayi town. On November 24, 2015, the office of Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs issued the reply of Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on Approving the adjustment plan of Pingjiang County Township division (xmxf [2015] No. 72), and agreed to establish Yongsheng Township and Jiayi town into a system and merge them into Jiayi town. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Jiayi town has jurisdiction over 43 villages and 3 community neighborhood committees, with a total area of 438.62 square kilometers and a total population of 58100. The people's Government of Jiayi town is stationed in Jiayi.

Jiayi town is a town with glorious revolutionary historical tradition. During the great revolution, the provincial Soviet government and the Pingjiang Communication Office of the New Fourth Army were stationed here; the "Pingjiang tragedy" which shocked the whole country during the Anti Japanese war took place here; the "February uprising" in Pingjiang was bred here; the heroes of the Republic such as Li Liuru, Yu Jie and Wu Zili grew up here. This red land has experienced three bloody washings by the reactionary army, more than 20000 innocent people have died under the butcher's knife of the enemy, and 2542 martyrs have died bravely for the liberation of the Chinese nation. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Jiayi town is one of the four granaries in Pingjiang, one of the ten second tier vegetable bases in Yueyang City, the largest Huanxin Nanzhu base in Yueyang City, and Siyuan village, which has won the title of "national green thousand village". Pingjiang county is a town with three AAA scenic spots: Lianyun mountain rafting, Tuolong gorge rafting and Chunxi town. In 2011, it was rated as "national characteristic landscape tourism town" by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and the tourism administration. In 2013, it was comprehensively rated as "the most happy Township in Hunan Province" by the provincial people's Congress and other units.

The town people's government set up Jiayi town. The market town was initially formed in Yikou area, just at the intersection of xiejiang River and Mishui river. It is said that Yikou was destroyed by mountain torrents during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, so the market town was moved to huxingling, now the town area, and was renamed Jiayi. In the whole year, the gross output value of the three industries reached 600 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 12.75 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 6820 yuan. In 2014, Hunan Baisheng environmental protection activated carbon plant was successfully introduced, with an annual turnover of more than 50 million yuan. After completion and operation, it is expected to create 3 million yuan of tax revenue every year.

Culture and education

The cultural and educational undertakings of the town are well-known throughout the county and the provinces and cities. At present, there are dozens of Jiayi middle school, Xianzhong middle school, Zhenzhong Central Primary School, Yikou primary school and kindergarten. At present, there are 310 teachers and 5538 students in primary and secondary schools. The annual consolidation rate of primary school students in compulsory education is 100%. The annual consolidation rate of junior high school students was 98.8%, the enrollment rate of Disabled Teenagers was 87.6%, and the graduation rate of junior high school was 73.5%. The enrollment of the township is very convenient, and the quality of education is among the best every year. In 2014, Jiayi middle school ranked first in the county's rural junior high school with 22 students who were promoted to No.1 middle school. In 2014, the construction of school complex buildings such as Jiayi town primary school and Xianzhong primary school has been started, and the construction of four qualified schools has started.

The cultural station was rated as one of the "top 100 cultural stations in the province". In 1998, the conference of 30 cultural centers was held here, which was reported and promoted by CCTV. In the southeast of the town, there is the main peak of Lianyun mountain at an altitude of 1600.3 meters, which is a steep and majestic barrier to the northeast of the province. There is a Neolithic cultural site in sizhouping village.

Most of the territory is hilly, with the terrain slightly higher in the East and lower in the west, higher in the South and lower in the north. The ground height is generally 167-1627 meters above sea level. The highest point is 1627 meters above sea level at the top of Lianyun mountain, and the lowest point is 167 meters above sea level at miaoxiaowuchang on the West Bank of Xiyan village.

The climate of Jiayi town belongs to the continental monsoon climate zone, which is characterized by four distinct seasons, hot and rainy seasons, sufficient light and long frost free period. It is rainy and windy in spring, concentrated in summer, mild and cool in autumn, and dry and cold in winter with little snow. The annual average frost free period is 213 days, the annual average precipitation is 1085 mm, and the extreme annual maximum precipitation is 1123 mm. The main natural disasters are hail, early waterlogging, wind disaster, low temperature, frost, lightning and so on, with an average of 2 in 5 years.

The territory belongs to the Miluo River water system. Mi water runs through the whole territory from east to west, with a total length of about 25 kilometers, including Lijiang, xiejiang, Dongshan River, Xiaoyan River and other tributaries. The seasonal variation of water level is large, with high water period in summer and low water period in winter.

natural resources

The main mineral resources in the territory are granite, with geological reserves of 100 million cubic meters and recoverable reserves of 02.1 million cubic meters. The annual output of copper mining is 30 tons, which is concentrated in the southern Lianyunshan area. The available amount of groundwater resources is 63.8 million cubic meters.

In 2014, there were 1310 households with minimum living security, 1710 people, 2.1 million yuan of assistance, 167 people with urban and rural medical assistance, and 2110 people with cooperative medical assistance from civil affairs departments. Economics

Agriculture: the area of cultivated land is 44980 mu, 0.87 mu per capita. It is paddy field or dry soil, mainly for planting rice, rape and vegetables. In 2014, 28000 mu of early rice was planted, 62000 mu of single season rice was planted, 32000 mu of late rice was planted, and nearly 30000 mu of rape, watermelon, vegetables and other economic crops were planted, with a good momentum of agricultural economic output value. Part of the fruits of leisure agriculture Hannong green have been listed in 2017 with good benefits. There are 14000 mu of rape and 10000 tons of corn. The main economic crops are vegetables and medicinal materials. Animal husbandry mainly includes pigs, sheep and poultry.
