Yueyanglou Street

Yueyanglou street, Yueyanglou District, Yueyang City, is located in the northwest of Yueyang downtown. It is adjacent to Dongting Lake in the west, Beijing Guangzhou line in the East, baling West Road in the South and Dongting Avenue in the north. Now it has jurisdiction over 7 community neighborhood committees, including Guoliang, Yueyanglou, Jiuhuashan, Bianhe, fengqiaohu and jianzichi, with a total area of 2.76 square kilometers and a total population of 35290 (2010).

Historical evolution

In 1950, it was the fifth and sixth neighborhood committee of Chengxiang District of Yueyang County. In 1958, it was changed into the North management area of Yuezhou commune. In April 1963, it was the North Office of Chengguan Town, Yueyang County. In December 1975, it was changed to the North District of Yueyang City. Dongting Road street was established in April 1984, belonging to the south district. In 1997, Dongting Road street was adjacent to Dongfeng Lake in the north, Dongting Lake in the west, baling West Road in the South and Beijing Guangzhou railway in the East, with an area of 2.76 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 41225. It has jurisdiction over nine neighborhood committees, namely suspension bridge, ferry, Dongting Road, Bianhe, Mahao, Yueyang Tower, Donghu, jianzichi and Guoliang street. The office is located in Guoliang street. In 2000, it was renamed Yueyanglou street. On July 18, 2001, fengqiaohu community (now fengqiaohu Street) was established. The office is located in Dongting North Road.
