Xinmin Township, subordinate to Haidong Minmin and Hui and Tu Autonomous County of Qinghai Province, is located in the northwest of Minhe Hui and Tu Autonomous County, adjacent to Songshu Township in the East, lierbu town in the south, Xiamen town in the West and Zhongba Township in Ledu County in the north, with an administrative area of 88.7 square meters.

History of construction
Xinminshun township was established in qianheshun county.
In 1950, Xinshun township was set up along the old system.
In 1956, it was renamed Xinmin Township.

In 1961, Xinmin commune was established.
In 1984, Xinmin Township was restored.
In 2002, Lucao township was abolished and its five villages were merged into Xinmin Township.
